The show has an interesting premise but leaves a lot of questions unanswered |
Well, so far Ghosts is what I expected; IW taking a very silly story way too seriously, very pretty levels with the same old-console design ethics, and ignoring most of the good changes that Treyarch made (ie boosted health and hipfire accuracy in single to make the game more mobile, and the equip screen). Underwater level is interesting because I don't think the APS is hitscan and it felt like you could actually dodge enemy fire.
Also the central Rourke / Elias / boring silent player character plot gets way, way too much screen time compared to that whole thing where the US is being invaded by a genocidal-for-no-adequate-reason South American superpower. Though the fastest tank in videogames is almost as much fun as Menendez. If only it went ARRRRGH occasionally. |

Also that has to be the stupidest post-credits sting in the series, what the hell was that even supposed to mean?

So Assassin's Creed IV is the best pirate simulator ever created. That's all I can say about it.

Playing COD Ghosts right now. Apparently they forgot that the FAL has a bolt release near the mag release, or that the X95 has an ambidextrous mag release (they keep using the left side button and have your left hand press it.) and so far in the campaign universe the only handguns that are in use by both armies are M9A1s and P226s.

I think I'm going to skip it. The plot is just looking like a flimsy excuse to work through the writer's issues with Hispanics. And it apparently seems to imply that they all secretly want to destroy America. It's just a massive right-wing conspiracy fest now.

(And who plays COD for the plot?) |
