Die Another Day sucked. Agreed. I liked The World is Not Enough, coherent plot, cool villain, hot chicks, nifty guns, "good Russians", I liked it.

TWiNE might be the first film that was ruined by the Bond chick. I can't think of that film without Dr. Christmas Jones coming up first. (You know, Christmas Jones, the nu-cew-lar scientist in booty shorts.)

AC3 followed the pattern of bad endings

Um, how did she ruin that movie again? Other than failing to provide the required panty shot.

Haven't finished but so far, people keep saying the ending was WTF.

Right now, I am pausing with AC3 and playing Halo 4. So far, it's fun

Her bad acting was distracting. You don't need to be Meryl Streep to be a Bond girl, but I think Bond girls need to be a bit more than just mere eye candy. (There's plenty of room in Bond movies for just eye candy.)

There's also a limit to our suspension of disbelief. A car with machine guns and an ejection seat, okay. A car that turns invisible, too far. Izabella Scorupco as a computer programmer, okay. Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist, too far.

it had no closure, it just....eneded. Very anti climatic. Not gona give spoilers but it was a fail. You get given two choices at the end, but cant make it, they make it for you. And not the one i would have picked.

Set it up for a new game though, if they get around to it.

Okay, brosef. Not quite tracking on this one. To be a sexist prig for a moment, the only femal character I really pay attention to in a Bond movie when she is speaking is M, just saying.

Mr.Ice 11-07-2012 03:42 AM

Just saw the first Black Ops 2 mission and I am actually exited for it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=I7BAnhIO0LM

S&Wshooter 11-07-2012 04:46 AM

I was in my brother's room playing Postal 2 on his laptop while he started up Halo 4, so I go to watch him play through the beginning. It didn't look like something I would want to play.

Wow, you're still playing Postal 2?

Bad comparison. I think Michael Bay should be banned from going anywhere near the director's chair, under any circumstances. That's like asking me whether I would rather eat a tasty, fresh piece of pie, or eat the flesh off my hand.

If you asked me whether I would prefer Tarantino to Martin Campbell, I would still say Campbell without thinking about it. Tarantino may be a talented filmmaker, but he is talented at making a certain type of movie. Bond movies are not, and should never be, anything like "Reservoir Dogs" or "Pulp Fiction".

Jesus, Bay's not THAT bad. I wouldn't let him anywhere NEAR a Bond film set, but I can think of quite a few worse directors than Michael Bay.

If nothing else he did "The Rock" which is one of my favourite action movies of all time. I'm also a fan of "The Island", but I don't think anyone else is.

I thoroughly love "The Rock", even if I'm more of a fan of MG Hummel than Nic Cage.

Also, I watched "The Island" with my Lady Friend this past summer for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Prtty cool seeing a PMC be the good guy.

I am.

Honestly, the only two Bay movies I can't really profess any kind of favor for are Pearl Harbor and Armageddon - Pearl Harbor because I can't seem to watch enough of it to form a good opinion of it (most I've ever seen was from the start of the attack forward) and Armageddon because it's a ridiculously over-the-top and surprisingly dated doomsday flick. That being said, I find Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen to be my least favorite of those that I do favor - that movie might just be the visual definition of "wingin' it".

Excalibur 11-08-2012 01:18 AM

Pearl Harbor and The Rock are the only good Bay movies to me.

SPEMack618 11-08-2012 01:30 AM

I enjoyed Pearl Harbor when I was younger, but I can't stomach the portrayal of Jimmy Doolittle as a fighter jock nor the portrayal of asking for fighter pilot volunteers for the Doolittle Raiders. To quote the inter-webs "Th stupid....it burns."

I'm not ashamed to admit that "Armageddon" is one of my favorite movies. There isn't one thing I find wrong with it, other than Will Patton not having a bigger role.

And, since I like mindless 'splosions and the good guys winning, I enjoy all of the Transformers films, with them being ranked in preference along the way they were released.

commando552 11-08-2012 10:00 AM

Armageddon is one of those movies that I really liked when I was younger. In hindsight though I think it is stupid as hell, but I still enjoy it.

funkychinaman 11-08-2012 02:51 PM

Pearl Harbor was the most disappointing movie I've ever seen in the theater, but it's gorgeous to look at.

Michael Bay at least has his own distinctive style that everyone is familiar with. If he were to direct a Bond movie, everyone here would have an idea of what it would look like. I feel there's very few directors we can say that about. (Tim Burton?)

SPEMack618 11-08-2012 03:41 PM

I did like seeing the P-40s in action. I think that is one of the more beautiful planes the U.S. has ever fielded, ranking up there with the Jenny, F-86, F-106, and F-15.

S&Wshooter 11-09-2012 01:16 AM

I found our old copy of the first Lord of the Rings movie, so I'm going to watch it for the first time in about 10 years

SPEMack618 11-09-2012 02:46 AM

I'm down to one PBR and can't summons the energy to go down the street to the beer store, plus they still have thier Obama sign up.

Excalibur 11-09-2012 03:10 AM

I just saw the trailer to World War Z and....I am disappointed to the point of near disgust on how poorly they adapted the book

SPEMack618 11-09-2012 03:16 AM

As much as I enjoyed the book, and I just couldn't get past the overlying socialist tones nor the grievous error of describing the 5.56 SIR of having a hard recoil. Seriously, dude?

But I did enjoy the homage to Stormin' Norman.

Excalibur 11-09-2012 03:22 AM

Well I didn't like Max's book about Zombie Survival where he trashes the M16 as a piece of shit and prefers and AK style rifle

SPEMack618 11-09-2012 03:30 AM

Yeah, I liked some parts of the Zombie Survival Guide, such as his emphasis on the importance of a good .22 carbine, but other parts made me throw up in my mouth some.

Spartan198 11-09-2012 04:10 AM

What trailer are you guys talking about? I checked YouTube which was, as usual, full of fan-made "official" movie trailers, but none of the ones for World War Z looked even remotely legit.

They need a new definition of "sleek".

Also, they need to be careful with Walhberg. If anything turns out to be off about this movie - which, given it's a Michael Bay production, is a very real possibility - Mark will sleepwalk through it to get to the check.

funkychinaman 11-09-2012 04:30 PM

If you're going to ruin your career for a video game, I'd hope it was for a better video game.

k9870 11-09-2012 04:34 PM

seems world war z has fast zombies and no headshots only crap. may be cool

SPEMack618 11-09-2012 05:56 PM

And see that is what made the Z War good, the zombies were slow, but they numbered in the billions and you had to take them down with a headshot.

And it's gone. Well damn.

Excalibur 11-09-2012 07:00 PM

The tension is gone too. All we got is an action movie.

The zombies in this trailer tells they are smarter and move like wild animals than the living undead. Even since the remake Dawn of the Dead and 28 days later, zombies that run are over taking the main stream and it's stupid,

Max Brooks went through great details in his books about what the zombies are like

But at least this seems to be better than most movies based off of novels (do I need to say it). Plus it way better than this bullshit:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warm_Bodies .

I can think of a dozen movies based on books that are obviously better than this piece of crap

How about Lord of the Rings? The Shining? Any of the Tom Clancy movies, Friday Night Lights? Apollo 13? Blackhawk Down? Full Metal Jacket? The Harry Potter movies? The Shawshank Redemption? Jaws? The Notebook (Yes, I saw the Notebook and yes it was with a girl and yes it was for sex)

I didn't mean to say all novels turned to movies were bad I was talking about novels like Twilight.
