M4 or M4LE?
I'm going to be screencapping Inside Eden's Gate, a tie-in prequel short film to Far Cry 5 made by Ubisoft. As probably expected, there are quite a few of what look to be M4s in it, but they're all notably only fired in semi-automatic all through the film although no close-ups of the fire selectors were ever shown. Would this alone be enough to consider them M4LEs aka LE6921s rather than actual M4s?

I guess the question is - what's their barrel length?
On IMFDB, we generally treat "M4" as a descriptor of a type of firearm resembling a military-issue M4-pattern carbine, same as we do for M16A1, M16A2, etc. That is, of course, unless we have visual ID on the specific make-and-model of the weapon. Likewise: We typically use Colt Law Enforcement Carbine as the descriptor for any weapon patterned after a civilian "M4gery" with a longer 16" barrel, if we're not sure whether or not it's an actual Colt LE6920/6921. |

I wonder if they're actually DPMS Panther variants? I used to own one, but mine had a flattop upper. I didn't think DPMS offered those guns with A1E1 receivers, though. |
