Got a PTR91FR
Hey All,
I got myself a PTR91FR, so far I have broken it in and I need to adjust the iron sights. When that gets Adjusted properly I am going to really see what sort of groups I can get out of it. |
Fun gun. I'd still prefer a FAL type for my classic Cold War battle rifle look.
On the bright side. I like the PTR better than other G3 clones or CETME because it has the H&K paddle release. |
If you ever find yourself shooting some steel cased ammo out of it, let me know how it runs. Are mags still crazy cheap?
|
My buddy just got a PTR91 GI that had sticky, recessed rollers out of the box and was violently ejecting both steel and brass cased ammo out of his gun. I told him to thoroughly clean the rollers and he said it isn't as bad anymore, although I don't know how much or what type of ammo he's shot out of it. Hope yours runs great. Enjoy your 3 dollar mags!

I love how G3 pattern rifles have basically the exact opposite gas system and magazine situation of the FAL
FAL, you can adjust your gas to your loading G3, FUCK YOU BRASS GO OUT GUN 50 MPH FAL, mags are $50 and usually need a little fitting G3, some fucker has 70000 of them and only charges you to cover shipping |
True, but I just like the general feel and profile of the FAL better than any G3 clone, especially ones without the paddle release lever. That's just a pet peeve of mine. This is why when H&K reintroduced the SP89...still no paddle release. I'd rather buy a Zenith gun

Was it ridiculously expensive like every other HK gun?

I like said, a Zenith gun of that same type at most would cost 1700 maybe at street price. Still pricey but for an MP5 clone, it's better than H&K and these guys sell most of the H&K classic variants. Hell, if they had tooling for G36s, you know they'd be making them.
