This rifle is a post-war conversion of the old spanish Mauser M1916 & M1943, it was made during the adoption of the Cetme Battle Rifle, and was issued to second-line troops due to the shortage of the new rifles.

It´s not mine (but I want one), it´s from "Cholo" from FullAventura forums, he buy it a few days ago and, according to him, it wasn´t expensive.

Interesting that you have it as an SR8, in North American they're called FR-8s. I wonder if that's a mistranslation on our part? It wouldn't be the first time, the "Type" in Japanese weapons should actually be translated as "Model".

No, you´re right, it´s the FR-8, I wrote it wrong.

It does have a fairly good kick. Lightweight, 7.62mm NATO and a steel buttplate. But it rates high on the Cool Looking Scale.
