New Pic

Me playing with a Bushmaster AR-15 carbine at the local Academy Sports & Outdoors store. Aside from the A2-style upper with 16" barrel and semi-auto lower, it was a pretty sweet M4gery. Now if only I had $1000 to throw around...

And yes, I do shoot left-handed. :P

That's weird, it was working and I saw it.

Saw the pic on your profile. The Bushys are pretty nice, although a lot of the ones I saw at the last gun show had pretty cheap-looking bolt carriers. My Dad took a look at them and was unimpressed. Not sure if they've gone down in quality recently.

Also, if you're a lefty, wouldn't you prefer one of the STAG left-hand ARs?

I've gotten to live-fire an AR-15A2 HBAR and an M16A2, and never had any problem with the spent brass. Plus the A2 and newer uppers have the brass deflector that pretty much makes it a moot point. Some people think that left-handed shooters have problems operating controls on a gun made for a right-handed shooter, but I've never encountered any difficulties.

Thanks Spartan. I don't know why it didn't work, I copy/pasted the link and made sure to get rid of the excess http tag at the front.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Plus, the STAG guns still have the bolt catch on the left side of the receiver (it's only the upper receiver that's been changed around). Pretty much the main advantage to having a left hand gun is ease of reload, and with ARs, that means being able to hit the bolt catch when reloading. But STAG's leftie ARs don't even give lefties that ability. So until someone comes up with left-handed lower receivers, as well as uppers, the utility is minimized.
