Almost Puked while browsing colt website

Now, i think they overrate and overprice their products, with their air of "were the original were better" mentality and their putting civilians aside as a secondary market, but, i like to check sites and look for new products

I saw this

Dont rape the 1911, seriously wrong

Excalibur 07-24-2010 07:19 PM

Seriously? A double action only 1911? With no safety, even though we see a nitch on the slide where the safety used to be.

PersonOfInterest 07-24-2010 09:00 PM

Have you ever looked at somebody and noticed they have something very wrong with their face but you can't figure out what it is? And then suddenly it dawns on you that they've shaved off their eyebrows? That's what this is like.

Manny 07-24-2010 09:00 PM

Well that's actually pretty cool. Although it's just an inferior version of Para Ordnances LDA (light double action) trigger concept.

Both are due to the Glock and it's derivatives, which introduced weapon training in rapid fire pistol techniques at close ranges.

The colt looks horrendous though, ugh.

PersonOfInterest 07-24-2010 09:20 PM

One time I saw this gigantic ugly looking gopher and I did a double take. Turns out it was just a rat that lost its tail.

Excalibur 07-24-2010 10:00 PM

What's wrong with the AK?

I came late to this thread, but I noticed it right away that it's missing the stock adjuster, I was hoping nobody else would see it though so I could win the prize.

You are truly the gun master, master of guns.

k9870 07-25-2010 11:34 AM

Back to the topic, who else felt a part of them die when they saw what colt did to that poor 1911?

Swordfish941 07-25-2010 01:08 PM

This is Friggin' Blasphemy!

Wow, you ARE dense. Taking someone else's original photograph and 'fixing' it in photoshop is a copyright violation. Especially when the actual PHOTOGRAPHER is right here in front of you. Try doing that with a photograph by Diane Arbus or Annie Liebowitz or Robert Capa.

Sure as long as the image is 'in fun' and goes nowhere else, it's probably not a big deal, but you copied the original COPYRIGHTED image (look at the pics, they are not only digitally copyrighted, but have an obvious license to IMFDB statement on the pics), renamed the files and parked them somewhere else.

You really do not understand how the world works? Do you? Yeah sure, people violate copyright all the time on the net, just like they all exceed the speed limit and jaywalk everyday. But guess what? You can get nailed for it too. Just depends on the time and the place and whether or not it's worth pursuing legal action.

Some IMFDB members have stopped making 'frankengun' hybrids out of my photos because (1) I asked them to and they respected that request and (2) it's a technical violation of North American Copyright law. Next time you do that, take the pics yourself and then you can alter it all you want. At least YOU will be doing most of the real work. Not someone else.

It must make you so furious to see people driving 36 in a 35.

But mall ninjas are retarded, so who cares other than video game developers?

k9870 07-25-2010 09:53 PM

Just saying, as rediculous as that thing i created is, you will probably see stupder crap in common media.

I made it as a joke, others, well, weve all seen what stupid stuff makes it into games.

No need for a safety on DAO. I never fired a DAO semi auto pistol, but I would hate the idea of a heavy trigger pull each shot. I'll take DA/SA.

Stock: Cheytac M200
Cheek rest: Barrett 98 Bravo
Buttplate: F2000

Getting the ones POI missed.

k9870 07-26-2010 11:36 AM

yep, all thats left is the bayonet, a light, a foregrip, and the caliber of bullet randomly slapped on.

Spartan198 07-26-2010 03:40 PM

Bayonet is the M9 designed for the M16/M4/AR-15 platform, foregrip is an AFG foregrip by Magpul, light is a Surefire 6P, and the caliber of the bullet is 7.62x25mm.

k9870 07-26-2010 04:18 PM

all correct
