Blued; I'd probably never buy a nickel gun

oh, thinking about that, I'm thinking about making my AR a little more suited to the fact I'm nearly half a foot taller than average, and have huge hands; been shopping around for a longer collapsible stock (VLTOR EMOD is top contendor), and got a "ergonomic) Blackhawk grip

neat rifle, though

14.5" + permanently attached A2X flash hider = no tax stamp

Oh everyone should have a BBQ Gun. You know the Detroit PD used to issue nickel plated revolvers to it's officers up until the seventies. Detroit is very damp and up until the seventies when stainless steel became common nickel provided better protection. Bunch of cops running around with pimp guns. Seems appropriate for Detroit. :D

Exactly. It's permanently attached. I wouldn't bother with a tax stamp over the extra barrel if it was the only way to get a 14.5 inch barrel.

Never heard a VFG referred to as a donkey dick. I just got that part actually. SKD had a blowout sale and I got it for way under MSRP. I have it set up to where I can QD it and screw on a Grip Pod so I have a means of stability for accuracy testing/zeroing. I also have the full length version but I'm rocking the stubby for now just so I can say the rifle is 9 pounds dead.

And to answer Jcordell, the base rifle setup with a swapped upper was about 1300, with the total package including spare parts at just under 3300. Small price to pay for a super sweet M4gery if you ask me. Most of the excess is the optic and flashlight as well which are top tier kit. Unfortunately for my bank account as well, though, I am in the process of swapping the upper a second time due to a problem with the barrel nut, argh. Hopefully I will get enough resale value out of the current upper to compensate for the cost.

It's Army slang for the stubby ones

Excalibur 11-05-2015 01:24 AM

Really? I guess I need to ask. The Marines I know call them broomsticks...well for the typically long ones. Haven't seen anyone use the stubby grips.

So I dun f'ed up and bought a West German P226 on my credit card cause the price was very very right, and cause I needed a Fox Mulder to go with my Dana Scully and Gillian Anderson (my two P228s). Can anyone give me a lead on Mulder's holster or something like it? Here's a pic of the props that make up Mulder's kit:

It's a black leather thumb break OWB, that's all I can make of it. Any astute observations on the genuine holster or a facsimile of it would be appreciated.

I'll get pics of the gun at some point.
