From what I can tell, XBONE backwards compatibility is a possibility in the future. Even then, it doesn't appear you'll be able to use the game I already own.

which is why I am still getting the PS4. I am going to wait until prices are down for the new console and to wait until they get the initial bugs from the first generations of the new consoles worked out before I actually buy one.

I think what Microsoft means in terms of Xbone backwards compatibility is that you'll be able to buy a download copy that'll work.
