But it looks like a bunch of them have the selector on semi.

Looks like a 512. Also, not that that SCAR seems to be set up for a leftie.:D

Because the charging handle is on the right side?

Spades of Columbia 08-13-2011 02:03 PM

a right handed person that spent alot of time with Ar-15's and other like semi to full auto's would want the charging handle on the right hand side of the gun. The first thing i noticed when i handled the SCAR is that if a person braced the firearm by the magazine well he could pretty much say good bye to his thumb on the first shot.

I don't know how you brace your hand on the magazine of a rifle, but I have my thumb down or forward and not thumbs up. That's why I like the ACR better than the SCAR, the ACR doesn't have reciprocating charging handle

Looks like they´re adopting the H too after testing it:

So they're buying P90s, F2000s and Scars. Why not just open an FN factory in the country.

k9870 08-13-2011 07:20 PM

Got a translation for why other guns failed? I could basically make out one had light primer strikes.

It'll be funny if they got other FN stuff like the handguns and shotguns. They already got the MG made by FN

I didn't know they made earlier models with a raised front base. I thought only the 557 and its variants had that.

Although to be fair it could be the 552 and I simply stuffed the identification. The only difference I can think of between the two is the 552 is NV ready.

No, it isn't a 552/552 variant, not by the raised front base.

Here's a pic of a SCAR-L fitted with a 552.

As you can see, it fits flush over the rail.

But look at the front base of the one in Markost's pic.
http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/1751/desfile005.jpg
Notice how it sits raised above the rail rather than fitting flush over it like in the previous pic.

The Wierd It 08-14-2011 09:30 AM

I'm going by the pic which is actually on the EoTech website.

Spartan198 08-14-2011 10:26 AM

Must be a recent redesign, then. I image Googled the 552 and only one pic in 10 pages of results (excluding non-552 results) had the raised front base.

Galil: Mechanical failures
M6: The barrel didn´t pass the test nº4
Sig: Failure at resistance test nº4

Thanks, Seems N is king these days though, eating up.mil contracts left and right.
