Bought a safe

While it may not be as exciting as a new gun. It's one of the best purchases I have made in while. Sometime around the first of the year I'm going to look into getting a metal cabinet for the ammo. That way there is more long gun room.
The safe is a BIGHORN Classic 5928ECC-SPL Safe from Costco. Paid around $690 all total. The only guns missing in the pics is my RIA 1911 and S&W 442. |
A safe is a great investment. Got mine about eight years ago. It meant postponing a couple gun purchases, but the peace of mind was worth it. Looks good.

Did you bolt it to the floor or to the wall? It looks like it'd be a two man job to just pick it up and dolly it out the door into a van for offsite cracking.

My father bought a gigantic safe a few yeras ago that is pretty much full due to all the guns we keep in their for our extended family. I'm pretty sure we bolted it to the foundation of the house

Very nice. I'm looking at getting a Sentry fireproof 24-gun safe from work, they let us buy one item at cost every Christmas.

Oh, I have small safes already. But I want one that'll fit my entire handgun collection (because that's where most of the value in my collection is), is fireproof, and will be way too heavy to be easily moved. I don't have space to use safes that big for everything.

I have a little Stack-On that my cousin gave last year. It is easily moved, but it doesn't really matter because all I use it for is storing my Mosin and swords/cutlery when small children are over or I am out of town and very rarely to put my hunting rifles so they won't get knocked around between the time I get home and when we open up the main safe
