Favorite Fictional Firearms

What are your favorite fictional guns?

Mine is probalbly a toss up between Deckard's gun from "Blade Runner" and the Pulse Rifle from "Aliens." They still hold up in appearance after all these years.

He counts, I'm sure of it.

Also, I don't know if any of you have seen them as there are no screencaps on here of them nor have I seen pics of them anywhere, those futurized M4A1/M203-type carbines that were used by US troops in an episode of GitS: SAC 2G.

I didn't care for the guns in Aliens, just so you know before asking.

Yeah, he was a Man From UNCLE Walther P38, with the scope, stock and barrel extension.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...gatron_toy.jpg

The extension and stock form a weird monopod-mounted weapon for him, the scope is his 'fusion cannon.' They stopped with that because he counts as a replica firearm.

Gunmaster45 06-22-2009 11:54 AM

Huh. What were those designers smoking?

Everyone else picked a car to disguise as and he becomes a gun. Typical depiction of a bad guy decision...

Best fictional weapon? That Calico made to look like a minigun from Deep Rising. And the Auto-9.

Gunmaster45 06-22-2009 09:22 PM

The M41A Pulse Rifles from "Aliens" and the Morita rifles from "Starship Troopers". And while it is complete fiction, Hellboy's Samaritan is a pretty cool gun, although it never gets carrying capacity and reloading right in the films.

I don't watch a lot of sci-fi so that's about it. All the other ones are listed here.

Excalibur 06-24-2009 01:20 AM

The Pulse rifle from Aliens and the Deep Rising assault rifle

Rockwolf66 06-24-2009 05:29 AM

M42A1 Short Machinegun from Bubblegum Crisis. it's a 10mm weapon that fires at 850 rounds per minute and feeds high explosive Armor peircing rounds from a 66 shot magazine.

Gunmaster45 06-24-2009 05:36 AM

The modified M590A1 (mocked up SIG P220 Sport) from The One was kind of cool, although it was a little lazy of a mock up.

Which Bubblegum Crisis, the original or Tokyo 2040?

Rockwolf66 06-25-2009 06:32 PM

The Origional Series. Personally I don't like some of the things they did in the 2040 version. I mean come on Mackie is a frigging boomer!?! Sheesh they had a series with an estabished setting, characters, and cannon. What do they do but toss it out and put in whatever they want....

Wow. Glad I stopped watching after the second video, that's amazingly dumb. It didn't help that ADV gave the poor kid Shinji's voice, either.

ManiacallyChallenged 06-29-2009 06:16 AM

The messed up Beretta with a blade on it from.. Blade 2 I think.

Inventive, if a little strange.

AlkoTanko 06-29-2009 01:56 PM

Lawgiver from Judge Dredd (comics, not film). Lessee what it has:

1. Normal ammo.
2. Ricochet ammo.
3. Hi-ex ammo.
4. Heatseeking ammo.
5. Armor-penetrating ammo.
6. Incendiary ammo.

That is not something you can easily top in any medium.

Excalibur 06-30-2009 04:40 AM

Blade's Mac 10 in the first movie

oddjob 07-12-2009 07:07 PM

Man from U.N.C.L.E. Walther P-38. and pulse rifle.

Excalibur 07-13-2009 06:27 AM

The Morita carbine. Cause for a bullpup design, the Morita rifle with the shotgun seems a bit large in my opinion

Gunmaster45 07-13-2009 08:31 AM

I think the coolest thing about the Morita was the M60 muzzle break, which gave an impressive star pattern flash. Especially on the shorter Carbine, so I agree with Jacen.

Excalibur 07-13-2009 08:41 PM

I mean, if that wasn't a plastic shell around another plastic framed weapon, it would have been real heavy and that's just not practical for a rifle of any sort

Gunmaster45 07-13-2009 10:43 PM

Technically, if they wanted to, they could build a live firing Morita, couldn't they? I think the recoil from the Ithaca shotgun would break the plastic shell, but the 5.56mm rounds likely wouldn't.

Vangelis 07-16-2009 02:42 AM

I find it hard to believe I forgot the most awesome fictional weapon of all, the mighty nunchuck gun.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...f/Gunchuck.jpg

Yournamehere 07-16-2009 03:29 AM

It's times like this when I am sad that I can't find my roll of tape, as I have both guns, and a pair of nunchucks. That is indeed awesome.

Oh, you did an awesome job on the Far Cry 2 page, by the way. It was probably the most fun I had with the game, you know, laughing at it's many weakpoints? Hehe.

MT2008 07-16-2009 03:43 AM

It's really hard for me to think of one that tops the M41A Pulse Rifle from "Aliens". I also really like the "M1-L1" pulse rifle from "Deep Rising" and the "Sword/Dagger/Rapier 9mms" from "Romeo & Juliet" (though since those guns are just customized Taurus PT99s, not sure they really qualify as "fictional").

wouldn't you just need to replace the barrel?

If the shell was fiberglass, or high impact resin, should be just fine. Long as the shotgun is mounted properly and isn't shifting inside the shell anyway.

:D

phalyn 09-03-2009 07:52 AM

Ah where to start?
Vash's Break open revolver from Trigun
The Cerebus guns from Gungrave
The Casull and Jackal from Hellsing
The Samaritan from Hellboy
Mal's pistol from Firefly
Vincent's triple barrel gun from FF7 and Dirge or Cerebus

aus_shooter 09-03-2009 07:57 AM

Hmmm tough one, i really like the Alien Pulse Gun but after watching Distraict 9 the other day i might be swaying towards there Electricity type rifles.

paraordnance 11-26-2009 04:17 AM

I like the seburo m10 from Ghost In The Shell: Solid State Society.

Zulu Two Six 11-26-2009 06:26 AM

THE LANCER FROM GOW FTW! yes, the lancer all the way! :D

Excalibur 11-27-2009 03:39 AM

The Lancer is too big for me. I'd pick the Morita rifle from Starship Troopers.

The M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens is one of my favorite fictional guns

Lenny 12-10-2009 12:49 PM

The Cobra Assault Cannon from Robocop. The most fun you can have on a deserted street. Bit unweildy, though.

S&Wshooter 12-10-2009 02:14 PM

The cerebral bore from Turok :D

Markost 12-10-2009 05:58 PM

M-56 Smart Gun from Aliens

Does that even qualify as fictional since its a largely unmodified Barret 82?

I'd say it fits, since it's using ammunition that doesn't exist in anywhere near what it's depicted as being.

Swordfish941 12-24-2009 01:46 AM

I like the modified M60 machine gun used in Avatar. The ventilated handguard and the way they use a drum magazin rather than an ammo belt is a nice touch. I also like Hellboy's revolver. It makes the Smith & Wesson 500 look like some cheap .22 revolver. I recently got Halo 3 for the X-box 360 (My parents got it for me and my brothers on Luminary Sunday) and I love the assualt rifle the humans use. It's basically a FN F2000 with coverings, chambered in 7.62x39mm, and with an ammo counter added on top.
