If you really think this matters at all, then you're giving it more attention than it requires or deserves.

I don't know much about this and am not sure why people are against it, can someone explain it. Is it that people are afraid it will infringe on the 2nd amendment (not sure how it can exactly but whatever), or because it will potentially affect US arms exports and threaten domestic industry? I'm British so can't sign the petition even if I agreed with it (don't understand it yet so don't know if I do) am just curious.

They claim that if arms exports are regulated by this Arms Trade Treaty, it will apparently require all gun owners to register their weapons in order to prevent their export. And of course, since the UN is some evil entity bent on furthering international jihad and international socialism (simultaneously), this will inevitably be the first step in the global gun ban that is required to allow the Ayatollahs and the Stalinists to take control and turn the world into Oceania, or the Ummah, or whatever...
Aside from the extremely dubious causal logic inherent in the above statement, the bigger issue is why anyone expects that an organization which has consistently failed to convince ragtag African militias to hand over their guns (with polite words and neutered "peacekeepers") will ever be able to implement/enforce any type of global gun ban.

That should tell you everything you need to know about the types of retards who permeate the pro-RKBA community, and who would sign such a dumb petition.
