IMFDB Gun identification thread
Didn't see a general thread for identifying unknown guns so I'm making one here.
This handgun appears in the seconds season of the Third Watch and I'm having trouble identifying it. http://www.imfdb.org/images/d/d6/Thi...mysterygun.jpg http://www.imfdb.org/images/1/14/Thi...ysterygun2.jpg |
Looks like a non gun.
|
I believe you are correct.
|
How about this one:
http://www.imfdb.org/images/f/f9/Thi...ysterysmg1.jpg http://www.imfdb.org/images/5/54/Thi...ysterysmg2.jpg I was thinking Intratec MP9 but something about the shape doesn't look right. |
Oh cool, you're doing Third Watch. I need to finish that series.
|
Any idea what this kludge is supposed to be? Its the Envoy blaster/gun/thing from Altered Carbon. Some sort of vaguely AR-15 based thing with what I think is a flip-up magnifier as a sight

Good call on the Tipman, got more screenshots and the grip and receiver seem to match. A decal seems to suggest the in-universe manufacturer as "???NKOA ARMS"
I'm pretty sure the first gun is a Px4, is the second a USP? https://i.imgur.com/6EWpBefh.jpg https://imgur.com/6EWpBef https://i.imgur.com/iqtvtmvh.jpg https://imgur.com/iqtvtmv |
I agree on the PX4, but I think the HK pistol is a Mk23 based on the rear sights and frame safety.

And some more:
This looks a bit like a Chiappa Rhino, but I'm pretty sure its just a prop. Referred to as a "modified second-series Nemex". The "cylinder" is actually a 'charge pack" https://i.imgur.com/Vw3zsSuh.jpg Found a promo pic that shows the Envoy Blaster's markings. "NKO ARMS" https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....00,999_AL_.jpg This seems to be a custom build for the show https://i.imgur.com/NKCz90Kh.jpg |
And a weapons cache, with all the usual suspects of Vancouver-filmed sci-fi
https://i.imgur.com/AhQOa8Vh.jpg |
I see several movie props :the S&W 610 dressed up from Blade Trinity, "Bone Jack" rifle from that film as well and the I, Robot Taurus model 85.

Is this actually a Vektor CP1? I thought it was, but the mag doesn't stick down enough and I might be wrong. Is it a SiG P230/232?
https://i.imgur.com/b5uZIelh.jpg Also, I'm starting to think the Sun Jet and Mk.23 with dot sight are separate weapons. |
I often wonder why handguns are shown to be so massive and awkwardly bulky in the "Future". A quick review of handgun design shows that they have become more compact and sleek as the years have gone by. Oh well just an observation.

Need help with identifying this pistol. Any assistance would be great!
https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...35&oe=5B66F7F4 Alternate view: https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...76&oe=5B557EE5 Sorry about the size... |
Looks like a SIG-Sauer P226.

I'm not convinced it is really a P226. Firstly, the slide doesn't look like it extends far enough past the end of the frame. Secondly this gun has a railed slide but an internal extractor which I think is a pretty rare combination, they are pretty much a German made special edition. Here is one, but that image highlights to me how short the slid on the mystery gun looks.
|
I think the railed slide is what bothered me the most about the pistol in the screen cap. I haven't been able to locate anything that resembles it in my searches. That's why I went with "appears to be" in the show's article until I figure out what it actually is.
Thanks for the help. |
Perhaps it's a smaller SIG like the 229 or the 225

My initial guess would have been a P228R (shorter slide, internal extractor) but the trigger guard looks the wrong shape to me.
|
Maybe it's a REX
|
Just doing more searches and making comparisons, it looks more like a P228 than the 226, but the trigger guard almost looks like an H&K USP...
I want the article to be as accurate as possible and unless I get the props department to clarify the weapons for me, I'm at a loss on this particular gun. I am considering changing it in the article from the 226 to the 228... |

Got another one. I think it's a Glock 26 with an extended mag but would like confirmation (and correction if necessary).
(This show is shot is such dim lighting sometimes it's hard to get good detail on the weapons they use. Then I find a cap where the attention to detail by the prop on minor things department it's amazing...) https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...2c&oe=5BBB370E https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...23&oe=5BA5DE51 And... https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...de&oe=5BB9EF27 |
Yeah, G26, not even sure it has an extended mag though. Awful short slide aside the fact it has 3rd Gen finger grooves in the grip but no rail is a pretty good giveaway.

Thanks to both of you for the help! |
Need help with identification again.
https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...58&oe=5BA77221 Another view, more of the rifle stock: https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...53&oe=5BDB96CE And anything in this picture other than the guy second from the right, I've already recognized the Trench Gun he's holding: https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...63&oe=5BD57539 Anther angle to possibly help (again, I have the guy in the foreground and also the plaid shirt next to him with the Ithaca 37 Stakeout: https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...14&oe=5BD7B27D Thanks for the assistance!! (And I had been doing so well, too...) |

Or a Chiappa clone of the Winchester
|
The longer I study the screen cap, the more I think it's the Chiappa. It has a hexagonal barrel and the matches the features of the Chiappa more closely than the Winchester (barrel length, fore stock, loading port...).
Thanks to both of you, I needed the initial ID to start my search. Now... on to the rest of them... |
What is this?
https://i.imgur.com/x0onmBE.jpg (this one stretches the page) https://i.imgur.com/QsLhxrY.jpg The only thing I recognize is the magazine in the first image, which looks SMLE-ish to me. It's from an early 2000s TV show called Relic Hunter. |
Looks like someone was inspired by the Day of the Jackal rifle.
I think that you are right, the base gun is Lee-Enfield, maybe a Lee-Speed Sporter, judging by the bolt handle. The buttstock is in Sten Mk II - Mk III style but not exactly the same, possibly a makeshift. |
