I'm not so sure, the Red Dawn remake, even in its "China-friendly" form, is sounding much better right at the moment.

I've railed against the remake before, and I don't want to go into it again, but my main objection is that the original Red Dawn only worked because of the Cold War. It's the same reason why Rocky IV worked. You need the fear-mongering, you need the paranoia, you need a real threat.

I would not object if the remake had been set in say, 1982. But then, why even bother?

Fantasy scenarios makes for entertainment i dont watch movies for geopolitical realism. But bowing to the chicoms sucks.
