Just got my new shotgun

Mossberg 500 Mariner. After a while, I realized I couldn't resist the silver look.

I'm charging my camera battery and cleaning the gun up right now, but I'll post some pictures in a bit.

Looking forward to it.

Alright, here we go. I realize this isn't quite as unique or exciting as the stuff Nyles has, but it's the first shotgun I've ever bought, so I'm pretty excited, as you can imagine.

The last two have both the Mossy and my SIG 226 (which I haven't photographed in a while, but it has Hogue grips now). And of course, I made sure y'all knew these are mine and not something I jacked from some other site:

Good choice buddy! I was thinking about a 7 shot Mariner or the 590 Mariner just for capacity. Nevertheless, that is a tough, beautiful shotgun. I hope it serves you well. How much did the Mariner run you though?

Like I said, I researched some stuff myself, but in the end I too realized my ambition and got my Remington 870. I don't have a camera though and the stock on it is going to be replaced, but I'll see what I can do for pictures.

Congratulations, and again, great choice. Like the SIG too, man.

Thank you, sir. The Mariner was $425 new (I know I could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere, but I've been a bit too busy to go further than my immediate area).

I initially wanted an 870 Express Tactical, but I let myself get talked into a Mossy. Between the choice of tacticool and aesthetics, I got won over by the latter. I do appreciate the ease of modification (and I plan to put a pistol grip on it eventually) on Mossys. That, and the fact that the Marine Magnum is a lot more expensive.

And the express finish sucks, it rusts way too easy.

The bluing is really finicky, but the black oxide (the finish on mine) is pretty good if you keep up with it. Scratches like a bitch, though. I plan on getting a new finish (hopefully duracoat) on mine ayway.

I think that the Mossbergs are plenty fit for duty sheerly because of the flush loading gate which makes it easier to load shells under pressure, and Marinecote is supposed to be a tough finish too. I would have gotten an 870 Marine if there were any in my area, and they didn't cost 300 more than a standard. Not sure how well the stuff stands up to scratches either, but damn it's cool looking and functional!

You think you'd put a heat shield on yours? CTD sells factory ones with the Marinecote finish, and it would look so cool.

You sir are ready for the zombies now. Or is it commies? I get confused sometimes , but whoever the hell it is you're ready.

Communism is dead. The jihadists are who we have to be ready for now. I think, the only problem is that they don't have huge armies or any of that shit.

The one I bought doesn't scratch easily, but it's a bit dirty out of the box, so I am going to need to clean it up a bit (contrary to what I said earlier, I didn't do it before I took the pictures).

Dunno about a heat shield, but I do want a pistol grip for sure. I'm shopping around for one online as we speak.
