Playing the shit out of the RE2 remake. It's actually short, which makes sense because they can only adapt so much from the original and improve on it. The new controls and camera makes speed running this game a breeze.

funkychinaman 02-05-2019 03:32 PM

Can't you just write him into the next Avengers movie as John Wick? He's the male Black Widow, is he not?

Spartan198 03-03-2019 05:51 PM

Speaking of John Wick, I'm watching it for the first time (have both DVRed) and I just love how terrified of him everyone from the criminal underworld to local law enforcement is. The "noise complaint" scene was just priceless. XD

Working again?

Just tying up some loose ends.

Excalibur 03-14-2019 02:07 PM

Anybody else irked by how Black Widow holds and shoots her gun in the trailers of Endgame? She's tea cupping it, somehow making dead on shots with that grip and when she reloaded on empty, the slide wasn't locked back.

Spartan198 03-14-2019 04:45 PM

Teacup grip? Does anyone IRL even still use that anymore? Center Axis Relock is where it's at.

This reminded me of that episode of SWAT where Luca admonished Street for using the isosceles stance instead of the Weaver stance during training.

Jack Bauer teacupped all the time.

Yeah, but he isn't IRL, though.

Excalibur 03-17-2019 04:35 PM

Seriously, when was the last time you saw an actor tea cup?

Looks like John Cho of Harold and Kumar fame is going to be Spike Seigel.

Or John Cho, the guy who introduced the world to the term "MILF" in the first American Pie.

John Cho. Also known as gay Sulu

Spartan198 04-13-2019 08:11 PM

Watching Black Summer on Netflix. For a show that takes place in the same universe as Z Nation, it's Saving Private Ryan compared to MASH.

Somebody probably should have told the producers about the Army recently changing uniforms, though, because almost every soldier throughout the series so far is wearing UCP.

Nice. Season 3 of The Punisher

Spartan198 05-09-2019 08:05 PM

Ubisoft is making a Terminator game.

No clue why it's called "Ghost Recon: Breakpoint", though.

Wouldn't call it a terminator game. More like a corporation vs the world kind of game. Sorta like COD Advanced Warfare

funkychinaman 05-19-2019 04:40 AM

Speaking of Advanced Warfare...

So much for the three developer rotation...

I haven't seen John Wick 3, but I'm going to go ahead and assume he survives.

S&Wshooter 05-22-2019 03:02 AM

John Wick 3 is pretty good, if you like the Raid movies you're in for a treat

I've been playing Wildlands, like it for the most part so far, am having a blast except for when you miss a sniper by one pixel and he calls in 30 Blackhawks in the 1/1000th of a second it takes for you to recover and blow his head off

No, he dies, but he gets cloned by the Bilderberg Group in the end.

Bullet drop in this game is an utter wildcard. My suggestion is to pick a rifle/scope combination, get accustomed to it, and stick with it.

I don't know if you were using a sniper rifle in this case, but the Mk 14 and M40A5 seem to have the least amount of bullet drop out of all the non-DLC sniper rifles.

Spartan198 05-25-2019 07:32 PM

I think we just found out why there were never any more Syphon Filter games...

Big day for trailers.

Ultimate94ninja 05-30-2019 05:46 PM

Aaaaaaaaand we just got two trailers in the same day: Rambo: Last Blood and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019).

EDIT: FCM beat me for the first one lol #editconflict

Okay, does Price seriously have a pair of GPNVG-18s mounted on a boonie hat?

I just realized that and how stupid he looks with them on his hat

funkychinaman 05-31-2019 04:36 AM

Say what you will about Ghosts or Infinite Warfare, but IW was trying something new. Going back to MW just seems a bit lazy. (Not finding a better title is REALLY lazy.)

The fact that CoD4 is arguably still the franchise's highest peak after all this time is saying something, though.

Which they revisited with two sequels and a remaster. (BTW, I think it says something that the remaster costs more than Infinite Warfare nowadays.) Do we want them to innovate, or just keep trotting out the greatest hits?

Honestly the vague title is my only issue with it. Aside from that, I'm happy that the franchise came back to a modern setting, the latter of which I've been wanting for a while.

Thing with "trying something new" is that it needs to be done in the correct direction. I initially had good hopes for Ghosts, and yet it ended up as an awful game with really shitty writing (especially with that "I'M BETTER THAN YOU" part in the Sin City mission... is it some 8-year old kid talking here or what?). I haven't played Infinite Warfare, but aside from the space battles, it was criticized for pretty much ripping off many features from BO3, although this time the campaign was apparently nice.

To be fair, "trotting out the greatest hits" seems to be the MO with CoD these days, as is the case with almost any series in its twilight, and innovation was never something it was particularly known for.

In other news, I'm finally eligible for another Amazon Prime free trial, so I'm going to binge Jack Ryan.

Excalibur 06-01-2019 01:22 AM

I do like the idea of the developers promising a more "realistic" story. So much so that there's at least 1 so called game journalist calling for the censorship of this new game, fearing every level is going to be like No Russian...that actually gives me hope for the series. You can't make a game about war, glorifying it for entertainment and be surprised that war is very gritty and harsh

Spartan198 06-01-2019 04:32 AM

There isn't really anything else in the grapevine that I'm looking into getting this year (I'm passing on Ghost Recon Breakpoint and will very likely pass on WWE 2K20 unless it's themed around the Undertaker, Kane, or the Rock), so maybe I'll consider giving this new CoD a shot. Maybe. At least they've seemingly made it a habit to model both sides of the guns in the game.

Also, while I'm enjoying Jack Ryan, I can't get over how crooked the eyes of the actress playing the Jihadi boss' wife are. Seriously, they're like a car wreck, I can't look at anything else whenever they show her face.

Just get Prime, it's worth it. It's worth it even without Prime Video.

Not really. Prime Video would be the only reason for me having it since I don't buy off Amazon enough for save anything (my most recent order was last September) and there isn't really enough on it I'd watch regularly to warrant it.

Amazon is the first place I look if I need anything (non-grocery). I just don't have time to go out and look in B&M stores anymore.
