Election day tomorrow whos voting?

Time to vote again :). The republican governor candidate is actually looking really good in my state, strange seeing dems have ran it for 30 years and drove it into the ground. The biggest ballot initiative is to allow a casino here, which ill vote for, seeing everone against it is just morally objected to gambling while me onthe other hand believe in personal and economic freedom. Dont know the city issues since i recently moved.

S&Wshooter 11-01-2010 03:57 PM

Down here we have to choose between super corrupt Rick Perry or slightly less corrupt Bill White.

I'm in a red state and my mom's a democrat. I don't give a rat's ass about politics unless it's about lowering taxes. Anyway, where do you live now?

BurtReynoldsMoustache 11-01-2010 06:25 PM

Im in a blue state and my moms a democrat, but im a republican all out. I just moved cities, so the local issues are different, state politics are the same. And yes we have bond issues that would raise taxes im voting against.

And i miss when burt was gone. Better question, whos old enough to vote and who plans on doing it (if you can you should, even if you dont support a candidate bond issues and citizens iniaitives can be voted on.

I support the legalization of medical marijuana, but I can't smoke due to being an asthmatic. I could eat brownies with grass mixed in though.

k9870 11-01-2010 07:14 PM

Military member looking to go into law enforcement, i cant do any of that stuff. I have no need to either. I know too many people who sit around getting blazed all day and do nothing with their lives.

If it was legal to use cannabis it would be illegal to base any hiring decisions on it's use. Booze is legal, you can get kicked out of the military/LE for drinking too much. I know alot of people who smoke a lot of weed and are perfectly productive individuals. I know a few people who haven't even touched beer or cigarettes and are useless clods. (World Of Warcraft lol) Life isn't clear cut black and white, who knew?

Unless you have AIDS, cancer, or glaucoma, there is no reason at all to use cannabis medicinally. People who say they need it for depression, insomnia, etc. are just gaming the system. Not that it's a wrong thing, just an apparent thing, and a symptom of the inevitability of total legalization.

In relation to K9870 -No, the military is a different system.

ex.

As a civilian and you were to commit adultery, nothing would happen to you legally.

If your in the military and you commit adultery, it's a dishonorable discharge. -which is just like having a felony on your records.

k9870 11-02-2010 02:01 AM

Of course also in the military you wont be charged with adultery unless you are charged with something else and they decide to throw as much crap at you as possible. In practice. I know so many people who practice adultery but nothings done. Then ive heard people go to mast for drunk on duty, fighting, etc, and they throw in the adultery card to get rid of them.

And my point was that i cant smoke weed at all, and i dont mind either. I ahve no need to. Even if i wasnt enlisted.

Well that's quite an anachronism.

I agree with it, Adultery is disgraceful and has no place in the military.

Cheaters have higher testosterone levels, a desirable trait in a soldier.

Doesn't matter, it goes against the core values taught to soldiers in the Army.

Besides the advantage of any "higher" testosterone levels is negligible. You'll get all the "testosterone/aggression" you need with the Adrenaline rush that comes with combat.

S&Wshooter 11-02-2010 11:01 AM

I hope Perry doesn't win again. The school would actually like to have new textbooks at some point.

Did anyone know he pays a woman $400,000-450,000 a year just to plan his parties? That's ludicrous!

That's a really big waste of money. Why can't he plan his own damn parties?

Laziness and he just loves using taxpayer money to give his friends kickbacks

I thought western philosophy was based on Socrates teachings. If that is the case then soldiers shouldnt even have a love one to cheat on...Soldiers are meant for fighting and being breeders...you got to take the heart and love out of it.

Rick Perry is using illegals to boost his number of votes. I hope he gets convicted of fraud

Let's ruin his public image by dropping off a bunch of dope and hookers at his place.

He'd probably find out who you are and then have somebody put a bullet in your head. The guy is just like all those evil politicians you see in movies, only slightly worse

k9870 11-03-2010 12:49 AM

damn and you said this guy was only slightly more corrupt than the other?

Bill White only gives kickbacks and such, I don't think he takes bribes or uses illegals to do his bidding. He probably would if he had the power, but he doesn't

k9870 11-03-2010 01:02 AM

I thought it was bad we have a candidate whos cozy with the chicoms.

Last time we had a good candidate, he wouldn't play ball with the feds so the CIA made him drop out by threatening to kill his daughter very painfully

Him and my parent's friend who works for the Office of the Governor

S&Wshooter 11-03-2010 01:25 AM

White conceded before a whole 25% of the votes were counted (votes from mainly Democratic areas), so Perry wins. Maybe White was threatened like that other guy or bought off

k9870 11-03-2010 01:31 AM

Nobody just quits, especially here, hell even losers wait to see how much they lost by.

It wouldn't have mattered anyways. All that would happen is that a bunch of people would use the gov't grown pot, realize that it isn't laced with meth/PCP like the pot coming out of Mexico that they are used to is (it's to get people addicted to gain repeat business), and either start buying the illegal stuff again or buy the extras that aren't there anymore and add it themselves, causing more problems. Or people will start making the additives themselve, resulting in an explosion of Meth labs and drug related deaths. Or the cartels will get pissed and start killing/extorting people

If we really want to end the war on drugs, we need to make drug trafficking punishable by death (a sentence which will be carried out within the month) at the 3rd charge and also send a bunch of people from the Special Operations community down to Mexico to start destroying the cartels. Burn their crops, destroy their compunds, kill their leaders and use intimidation tactics like they do. That way they will either openly attack us, leading to them getting their collective heads stoved in by the steel toed boot of the mighty US military, or it will become incredibly difficult for them to make any money at all. If that happens, the cartel will regress back to small time operations

k9870 11-03-2010 05:55 PM

I say we need to train up and gear up mexican military and police forces, right now they are small but known to do a little street justice and kick ass. Saw a story a few months ago where 4 cops were murdered so federales showed up in armored vehicles with fully automatic weapons and killed all cartel members involved, some even after they surrendered. Train enough people to get large forces this badass and the cartels will be fought into submission. They will live in fear like their victims do now.

There is too much corruption in the Mexican government to trust them to actually destroy the cartels. If we were to arm and train them, a week or two later, those guys would be working for the cartels for exponentially more pay than they were getting in the military/police
