Car-15?

http://www.mirage2000.com.tw/images/...ifle/CAR15.jpg

People told me that this image is called "CAR-15 Miniature Assault Rifle" and i used to believe that this is truly CAR-15. But i saw an article inside IMFDB that this is actually NOT CAR-15. They said that this is something called XM-%%%(I don't remember actual number for this model, but i am sure that it started with XM...), and i found out that article inside M16 page is recently(maybe long time ago... i am not sure) removed, and this image is also removed, too.

I would like to know whether this image is trully CAR-15 or something else

XD

Ok, first off, I don't seen an image at all, but from what you said, you would be correct

And really odd that we actually don't have that rifle on the M16 series page anymore. We did a while back and had a brief discussion about it.

XM177, is the term you're thinking of.

No, that's definitely not an XM177. Too short and wrong stock. I've seen this sub-carbine in a book about the M16 that I have but can't seem to find right off hand. It was referred to specifically as "CAR-15", though.

It's called the XM607, and it was in fact called the "CAR-15". Tokyo Marui used to make an airsoft version of this gun which they also just called the CAR-15.

However, in the 80s and 90s, the term "CAR-15" was also a generic term used to describe just about any M16 carbine variation that preceded the M4.
