Factory mags can obviously be trusted, as can Mec-Gars since they pretty much make all factory mags anyway, and in some cases you can trust a military surplus mag if it's got a good enough reputation (Airtronics mags for Beretta M9/92 pistols for example). If its a weird mag with no markings that can be discerned, don't risk it, even if it's 10 bucks, just don't risk it and buy some ammo or something.

.

That's why I didn't order any mags for my FAL; DSA didn't have any in stock and everywhere I looked had nothing other than Korean/no-name mags

The only mags I can get for my .45 are factory :(

That is a fine looking pistol, k9870. Makes me want to get a CZ

With FALs, mil-surp is about all you can get, particularly with inch mags. With yours being an Imbel it has a metric receiver which will take both. But inch mags will wobble some.

Something like this isn't a bad deal. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=243286830

Wolf makes replacement springs if they are weak.

I bought a Pro-mag 10 rounder for my 4505, but I'm not all that impressed with it. We'll see how it does next time I take it out.

I took the time to do a little reading and with some google results I found that the Inch FALs can take both mags and the Metrics are the picky ones (and apparently with more than just magazines. Do you have a source that says otherwise?

Maybe that's what it was. I haven't read up on them since I purchased one. Mine's an inch lower and upper but the receiver is IMBEL which is metric which I guess Century modified it to take inch mags rather supply them metric ones.

I've only tried inch mags in mine so no idea how the metric even fit in it. Glad to see someone here actually researches things. Unlike me :o

Gotta go holster shopping soon. Wonder what the best ones are, mostly a range holster and some idpa eventually.
