S&Wshooter 01-23-2013 12:23 AM

I need a good .22 pistol more than I do a rifle, since I already have a sweet little Browning .22 rifle and a Winchester Model 52, my P22 is too little for me, and the H&R 929 just isn't cuttin' it

k9870 01-23-2013 12:24 AM

i wonder how much i can sell my 33 round mag for?

SPEMack618 01-23-2013 12:27 AM

Mk II 22/45 is the way to go.

Short of that, well, really any Ruger .22 Mk series pistol is superb.

You can sell it for however much you want. The real question is "how much would someone be willing to pay for it?".

I was leaning more towards a Buckmark

SPEMack618 01-23-2013 12:34 AM

Eh, unless it is sitting on top of my Humvee and giving me a concussion as it spits death at the fellows with towels on thier heads like it is laundry day, I am not that big of a Browning fan.

Love the man, but not the current production guns.

S&Wshooter 01-23-2013 12:37 AM

To me, the Buckmark just feels "right". You know what I mean?

i see 65 dollar pmags so apparently a lot. Its just a novelty to me but if i can turn a profit :)

SPEMack618 01-23-2013 12:42 AM

Rewind, what is it a mag for?

Aw yes, the mythical how does the gun "feel", so hard to explain, so hard to get right sometimes.

k9870 01-23-2013 12:47 AM

i have 6 pmags on bacorder, 3 e landers shipping soon. Hope no ban passes but good to be prepared. The new SCAR looks tempting. Non reciprocating handle? Extended rails available? I like :)

I got the same feeling the other day while foolin' with a new Browning HP Mk.III, too

SPEMack618 01-23-2013 12:49 AM

so I made a mistake of getting into it with the friend of a liberal friend on Twitter.

It was funny, I asked two questions before they resorted to name calling.

And I was going to compliment them on thier cat picture, it reminded me of a cat my mom had when I was little. :(

Insult the cat picture

SPEMack618 01-23-2013 12:52 AM

hahahaha. Nah, cat pic hit too close to home. lol

I was told that I was pathetic, to pick up a book, and to quit the RWNJ crap.

Had to google that one.

Mr.Ice 01-23-2013 01:44 AM

They apparently make AR-15 nailguns now...

k9870 01-23-2013 03:28 AM

went to cabelas earlier, even 10-22s were out of stock, mags were out of stock, etc. Even bolt actions were selling out. Xds and glocks were low on stock. Panic buuyingcleaed them out

predator20 01-23-2013 03:52 AM

It's not a good time to buy anything. I'm glad I decided to forgo some gun purchases last year and stocked up on ammo and mags instead. I hated doing it at the time, but damn sure glad I did now!

k9870 01-23-2013 02:37 PM

my w2 comes in 2 days so should be filed relatively soon. I want a carbine so bad.

S&Wshooter 01-24-2013 03:22 PM

Apparently, that show "Swamp People" is going to start filming in Fannett, Texas, which happens to be my father's hometown and where I spent the vast majority of my summer vacations up until my grandfather passed away.

SPEMack618 01-29-2013 04:17 AM

Remind me again why I had to pay out of pocket for good boots?

S&Wshooter 01-31-2013 04:25 PM

I found out the other day that my great-grandfather's old, wore out Stevens 311 (which my grandfather passed down to me a few years back) was literally the last gun sold through any kind of shop or store in the whole of Port Arthur, Texas from 1940 to the end of 1945

At some point, my father and I are going to have it and my grandfather's 16 Ga. Winchester Model 12 restored by Briley Manufacturing

SPEMack618 01-31-2013 06:32 PM

HOLY COW! My Big Sister, Mom, and Girlfriend made me a shadow box with all my trinkets in it. I hate to think how much this cost.

And I mean, they got everything. 48th Bde patch, ISAF patch, DUIs, all ten medals, my two ribbons, shooting iron, CAB, rank pins, the works.

k9870 02-02-2013 07:44 PM

Im thinking i may want to get my ffl eventually. Not really to run a full shop but to bank some money on transfers. Possibly do orders from people on the online distributors like davidsons. There i could supplement income without fronting the money to put guns on the shelves.

So one of my fellow admins on the Call of Duty wiki claimed it was OK that we were incorrectly referring to the CH-46 Sea Knight in Black Ops and Black Ops II as a CH-47 Chinook because, and I quote, "The CH-46 Sea Knight was not used in war until the 2006 Iraq War, the CH-47 Chinook however was used for Vietnam and onwards, as such the helicopters in Black Ops (Set during the Vietnam war and onwards) would be the Chinook."

I think Medal of Honor recipient Raymond M. Clausen, Jr., who got it by repeatedly running out of a Sea Knight into a minefield in Vietnam to rescue wounded Marines, is spinning in his grave right now. Plus that doesn't hold water when you consider we're apparently doing that for a game set after it was "first used in war".

*headdesk*

EDIT: After being called on this his argument has changed to, in order: "The CH-47 was the main helicopter of the Vietnam era" (Apparently the Huey doesn't exist anymore), "The CH-47 is a cargo carrier and the CH-46 isn't", since apparently the fact the Sea Knight gets used for VERTREP doesn't count, and "The CH-47 can carry more", which is stupid since in game it's not shown carrying anything bigger than a small crate.

k9870 02-09-2013 03:24 PM

got 2 feet of snow, 4 feet of drifts burying cars, 30-40 mph wind, and unplowed roads.

You expect way too much out of the average CoD fan.

I remeber getting lectured by a Fraternity Brother over how a fully automatic FAL/G3/M-14 was un-possible.

"They're battle rifles. They can't be full auto/ Then they would be assualt rifles."

Considering one of your admins doesn't understand how resolution works and thinks the original CoD had a "native resolution" (and that that NATO still existed in the war in MW3 even though they didn't respond to the US being invaded in 2, so the war page should list all NATO nations as combatants) then that's kind of par for the course.

Oh feel free to use mine. I think some of my brain matter may still be there, like the part necessary for higher level math.

1st Amendment concerns aside, does anybody ever think that maybe modern media is making us dumber?

I think we were just sticking to the ones actually seen fighting.

Another conversation from the household....

*clattering sound followed by inaudible swearing from my sister*
Sister-"MACK! Why is there an ammo box on the stares?"
Me- "uh, I forgot..." *inaudible mumblings*
Sister- "Well, I certainly found it. Could you keep your preparing for the end times hobbie confined to your room?"
Me- *sheepishly* "Sorry"
Sister- "It's fine. Did you load me any more .380?" *coming into my room now, with ammo can*
Me- *sheepishly again* "I forgot..."
Sister- "Fine. When I get carried off by a biker gang, I hope you feel real bad."
Me- "Sorry."

Tell her the ammo box is there because when the biker gang takes her, you want to come after her as fast as possible and not have to dig stuff out. Liam Neilson voice while doing so optional:D. What .380, BTW?

S&Wshooter 02-13-2013 07:06 PM

SPEMack618's sister is the most sought after commodity within the biker gang community of the Southern United States, worth roughly 4.8 tons of pharmaceutical grade Methamphetamine

Oh, gosh, I hope she, or rather her fiance doesn't read this, being a Sheriff's Deputy, I think he might insist on it so we could live out some sort of redneck fantasy against the local white trash meth tweakers.

Well, she was a cheerleader, prom queen, and sorority girl, so it wouldn't be unexpected.

And no, I never had to climb to the top of the water tower with a can of paint.
