That looks kind of weird |
I've seen it in action. It works.

Always been curious about those, it is one ugly bastard but kind of in a good way. How are you finding it?

They were lower than 80 dollars like 5 years ago, and that still validates his point. Even so, to some it's worth more to spend 500 dollars on a dedicated mil-spec red dot that can take a lot of abuse and will last you a long time than it is on two slavguns which are pretty much range toys that cost money to feed ammunition. I can personally justify spending a lot of money on optics since they serve a good purpose and can last a long while with no extra cost added save for maybe scope rings.
|
and for a plinker that wont be thrashed around a trs 25 s a gread red dot, acts like a aimpoint micro and usually cost around 100 bucks

saw on other forums where they were mounted on an ultimak tube and survive the heat just fine where cheapos like primary arms melt
|
searched around for local 545 ammo, nobody stocks it. Think ill end up with 762 when i get one. Id just need an eltimak, a light in a vltor mount, a red dot, a new pistol grip and a flash hider instead of the brake.
|
Got two more AR lowers. Made by McKay. Was thinking about a M16A2 clone, would complement the A1 real nice. Going to do an A4 instead, easier to use on the optics etc. Got the 20" barrel and furniture on the way. Upper receiver and LPK will be next month.
It will look like this at first, then get KAC rail and optic in the future. So it will be A2ish for a little while. http://www.imfdb.org/images/c/cb/M16A4Standard.jpg The second will be in 300 Blackout. It will be a flat top, but no idea about the barrel. That build will be a ways on down the line. So it might change. |
I'm going to go pick up my AK 74 on Saturday

The best thing about that 642 is that you can dump it in your pocket and go.
The five rounds of .38 Spl in your pocket is better than the 8 of .45 ACP in the truck. |
i cant grip a revolver as well as a semi or manage the da pull as well. I love my 686p and its a fun range gun, to defend myself ill grab autos

So I picked up my '74, but didn't really have a chance to mess with it until last night because I was over at my friend's for most of Saturday and Sunday.
The rifle looks and feels fine, but only the larger half of the handguard is plum (and even then, it's so dark that it looks black). Also, the action was incredibly tight until I sprayed it down with RemOil. I feel like I've definitely get my money's worth. I'll probably get bigger pistol grip, and maybe a longer stock |
I prefer a shorter stock on an AK and a folding one too

I added this pad on my Poly AKM but the screw holes don't match the Waffen. http://www.amazon.com/AK47-STOCK-BUT.../dp/B003BMDIHG May just make some new holes. |

I took a closer look, and the other part of the handguard is actually a really dark plum as well. You can just barely tell it's plum, it's so dark. |
just got my permit, tomorrow the 380s going n my pocket and im going to the funstore

Hey guys, I've been active on the site for quite a while now but never joined the forums for whatever reason. Well, I saw this thread and just thought I'd chime in. On my profile (which I haven't updated in a while :o) it says I have a Mosin Nagant and a Nagant revolver (which I still do have-although I'm about to sell the revolver). I've since acquired a few more toys, including a Ruger 10/22, Smith and Wesson M19-5, T/C Contender, and a Ruger Blackhawk. I guess that counts as a "gun purchase". :D
|
Wow, you managed to get your hands on a Nagant revolver? Those things are pretty damn rare IIRC, don't sell it too cheaply.
|
nagants are common and cheap lol bought mine for 99 bucks plus transfer and it came with a holster armorers tool and cleaning rod.
|
I thought about getting a Nagant revolver myself. My local Cabela's was selling a couple for a hundred each

My parents repaid me for some money that they had borrowed last night. I'm considering using it to buy a little bit of ammo and a magazine for my '74, but it all depends on how much doing so would cost.
|
I had to reorganize the whole bottom (long-gun) portion of the family gunsafe last week and while I was in there, I handled my father's Ruger Redhawk for a little while. Since then, I've been thinking about talking to him about buying it from him at some point (after he repairs the unnamed issue it has that he keeps telling me about, that is) since it just sits in the safe. He's planning to sell it anyways, and I think it would be neat to have my very own "Handcannon", so why the hell not? I'll definitely need to sell a few guns to be able to pay for it, though.
|
nagants are a cool little piece of history and a neat collectable. Why not have one in the collection?
|
Last gun show I was at, a guy had a whole crate of them in the big wooden carry case. About half were sold by the time I saw it ($139), and I was interested but didn't have a second form of ID. Maybe next time
