I just added a fiber optic sight on my 870 along with a sling adapter for a single point sling and new stock/pistol grip combo
|
My p64 grips are at the post office, ill get pics once i pick em up. the post office here is lazy and just drop a cannot deliver come pick up thing in the mailbox then drive off without ever coming to the door. Union labor at its finest. they're marschal's grips.

Original sling for my L1A1, four 50cal ammo cans (you can never have too many of those). M7 bayonet, Romanian AK furniture set for the hell of it. Korean AR-15 mags, some cheap AK mag pouches.

I ordered one direct from the factory since the local gun shop runs over to High Standard/Interarms at least once a week, negating shipping fees |

I'm not buying anything other than a couple of mags and a few boxes of ammo for a long while. I'm starting to run out of cash. This will probably be the last gun I buy for a year or two |
DPMS M4gery with both a flattop and a gas block rail. There is going to be a backup front sight added as currently I only have the detachable carry handle and a rear backup sight for it(can we guess why a rifle that had maybe a mag through it was going for dirt cheap?). It has a front sight, a rail forend and a forend tool headed this way.

I will prob buy a 686 as my next gun. The 7 shot model. to replace the 669

I have a pair of Pachmayr Decelerator rubber grips that don't fit my 19 very well, and I had the American Legend 1911 grips which weren't great either. All the harder plastic ones I've seen usually fit fine though.

I could pull the revolver straight out of the grips, if it weren't for the screw connecting the panels. It's like they were made for the Model 29 I'd buy a set of factory wood grips, but they seem to be either $70+, out of stock when I look for them, or have finger grooves |
Check gunbroker for wood grips. They may or may not be new but you can find decent ones for decent prices there. I see Goncalo Alves grips on there all the time.
|
Looks like smith is no longer using hogues according to their website it shows new grips that cover backstrap and have much less pronounced finger grooves.
|
I've spied Surefire 618 foregrips for my Remington 870 on Amazon for $289 with free shipping. Don't think I've ever seen them that low.

School sucks. Being out of the Guard sucks.
*peers around to ensure no one is watching* Having a girlfriend sucks sometimes too. I was pursuing this and I realized the last gun I got was Pop's Beretta Black Onyx that I got for Christmas. The last new gun thing I got was a Wilson 8-rnd mag for my -1991A1. |
Interarms ran out of polymer furnitured AK74 rifles, so I'm going to have to wait a while for mine
|
I want a sgl21 with a mako sock and a new pistol grip. that would be sweet.

I just cant wait for it so im selling my Colt Detective Special 3rd generation to get it faster...ohhh well i dont need another conceal gun anyway.

Finished my retro Carbine this evening. It basically looks like below.
http://www.imfdb.org/w/images/4/4c/ColtM653.jpg I was originally going to do an XM177E2, but going to wait until the pencil barrel on order comes in to get chopped and flashhider pinned. http://www.imfdb.org/w/images/b/b8/ColtM177E2.jpg |

I tried S&Wshooter, I tried. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=275911040 I don't like bidding against someone with no feedback. The seller also didn't have a fixed shipping price listed. So he very well could have added $10 to $15 over the actual shipping cost. Besides there's a gun show this weekend, might find something there.

If you still want a older doublestack S&W, Predator, there are a bunch of Model 59's on gunbroker for relatively low prices

I've read about reliability issues with the 59 in a magazine and a handful of stories here and there, and the sights on later models are better. You're better off with a 2nd or 3rd gen model.
And if you should be apologizing to anyone about mugging up a bid on a S&W pistol, it should be me. I can say with a decent amount of confidence that I'm more of an aficionado on their guns than S&Wshooter. That was a good price for it too even after fees, though it only has one original mag and one 5906 mag, which I personally would have pitched anyway. There'll be others for sure though so don't worry too much about it. |

I still have a beautiful Model 19, and I owned a 5906 for a couple years and loved every bit of it and in owning the 5906 I took a lot of time to research the different model numbers and variations. S&W automatics are among my favorite pistols because of that. One of my biggest contributions to the site is correcting S&W Auto and revolver misidentifications as well, since they're so often misidentified.
If you don't plan on carrying it, I'd say go with the 659 because it's easier to remove the grips if you want to clean under them, there's no firing pin block in them that I know of and a half cock notch in place if you want to have a lighter DA pull, and the triggers on them are just as good as their revolvers in both DA and SA mode, something that cannot be said for any 3rd gen pistol. The stainless steel is polished too and has a fancier look about it. Just as well with the 686, you can find a Model 66 at a lower price in decent condition on GB and it'll serve you just as well while being lighter and having more of that classic aesthetic if you like that. |

I've looked at the Model 66 snub too. They are a good choice also, but sometimes the sellers can be proud of them too. |
