Should I buy this?

Theres a Browning A-Bolt Hunter at the local gunshop going for $795.

Details-

-used (about 20 rounds through it)
-SIMS recoil pad
-Sling
-Burris 3x9x40 Scope
-.30-06

Should I get it?

having no experience in this feild i give it my seal of approval and say:
yes

The gun gets good reviews for durability and accuracy, if it fits you go for it, and burris makes good optics, way better then the trashco/simmons crap most places throw on their "package" guns. -06 is a versatile round too.

That's a decent price for an A-Bolt with accessories and an optic. I would still haggle a bit though. A good price can always be better!

Is it a synthetic or wood gun?

AdAstra2009 07-18-2010 12:47 AM

It's wood, but I don't mind that -I like the traditional look.

Same for me when dealing with hunting rifle. Just looks better, has more class.

Gunmaster45 07-18-2010 06:41 AM

My hunting gun is a Browning A-Bolt. Mine's the rare slug shotgun model (since I live in a shotgun only hunting zone), but the A-Bolt is an incredibly well made weapon, I highly recommend you buy it. Those guns are reliable tac-drivers.

Make sure it's not Japanese made. I have a Japanese Browniing and parts are already starting to wear out, after 4 years of very light use

AdAstra2009 07-18-2010 10:36 PM

Just picked it up, it came up to $842 with the maryland 6% sales tax. Beautiful Rifle though, can't wait to test it out.
I'll post pictures later.
