We should eliminate the Century Arms AK-47 bullpup page

Century Arms International aka C.A.I. is a wholesaler, importer, Distributor of guns. They don't build them.

Century Arms, the Distributor, bought off all of the remaining inventory of K-VAR'S bullpup kits for the AK rifle, called the AKU-94. The Kit itself is called the AKU-94, it does not denote a new rifle. Just like Muzzelites' kits for the Ruger Mini-14 are called the MZ14, that's just the name of the product (stock) not a name for a separate and new gun.

So Century Arms is 'sprucing up' a bunch of their AKs they have in the warehouse with these KVAR Bullpup stocks. They are not new guns and MOST of the AKs with Bullpup stocks seen in films were done BEFORE Century started doing this practice.

Any rifle with a KVAR AKU-94 stock should just be an addendum to the AK-47 page, since those can fit either AKMs or Type 56s (and unless the sight hood is visible and unaltered) you can't tell the difference what type of AK is inside.

Thoughts? Comments?

PersonOfInterest 08-26-2010 06:07 PM

Just make it a subsection of the AK-47 page, that makes the most sense.

I thought that was what I said when I wrote: "should just be an addendum to the AK-47 page,"

You also said "Thoughts? Comments?". My thought/comment is that I vote for addendum/subsection/whatever-you-wanna-call-it.

Then why did you reply like it was your own idea. Obviously you didn't take the time to read mpm2008's entire post.

How on earth did you interpret what I typed as replying like it was my idea?

Phoenixent 08-26-2010 10:37 PM

I agree with MPM put it in the AK47 section.

MT2008 08-27-2010 12:01 AM

Amen. Doing it now...

To be fair your quote could be viewed (in retrospect) as a sign of 'support' for the idea. But you have an Authoritarian air to your posts which immediately sounds like you're making 'proclamations' rather than 'suggestions'.

And then he always talks back and denies any wrongdoing. He has no ability to admit he makes mistakes, even when everybody else tells him the opposite.

You're the guy who went to a bar and stared at other dudes talking to women while obsessing over posts on an internet forum.

Well, I don't claim to be perfect. I know I've done stuff that offended you and other people in the past. I apologize for that. But I do hope y'all realize that I am simply trying to keep discussion focused and not let things get out of hand.

Which is why I created the Randomness thread

I've met very few people in my lifetime (but they are OUT there) who just don't get it and alienate as many people as possible in the shortest amount of time. Congrats. You get the prize. :D

I cringe at the thought of ever meeting you in person, POI. Your twisted sophistry is actually one of my 'hot buttons'. People who twist a conversation to a completely oblique angle because their brains are 'just not wired right', just confound and frustrate me to no end.

Also, to be clear on what PoI is referring to: During one of his (many) arguments with other members, I explained to him that I'd been to a pub that night and saw some guy trying to chat up a woman who wasn't interested in him. I later told PoI that this guy didn't know when to quit, and it reminded me of him. Now, PoI is telling me it demonstrates I take Internet posting too seriously. What he doesn't seem to grasp is that it was a bit of an exaggeration: I didn't go to a bar thinking about IMFDB. I simply gave him an example of something I'd seen in real life (something he obviously lacks) and made a connection.

Whatever. If that's the best insult that PoI can come up with, then he's still a pathetic loser.

Isn't it Asperger's Syndrome? Sure sounds like it. (which is not to say I think all people with Asperger's Syndrome are quite as uniquely unlikable as PoI)

Sounds good to me.

Nope he wasn't a fellow Aspie. We are actually smart enough to know better than to irritate those with interests similar to ours.

Point taken. And at this point, it seems clear that PoI isn't some socially awkward Aspie; he actually seems to enjoy arguing on the 'Net, both to feed his sense of superiority and to piss people off for amusement.

People with Asperger's actually use the term "aspie"? I always thought that was considered derogatory.

How would YOU know? I've never even heard of either Aspergers or Aspies until this forum mentioned it.......:D

I figured it was akin to using "downie" for people with Down syndrome.

I don't know I only heard of the term after my diagnosis. I guess it's about how you use the term and under what context it's used.

Heck I know of a forum where they banned the use to the word Gyped as it was insulting to a couple members of Gypsy ethnic background.

"Gypsy" is not quite a slur, but it is incorrect to use. The proper word is "Roma". It's a bit like calling Native Americans "Indians".
