Yes, you did. ;) That being said, if you want to build a clone of your first service rifle, here's where I would start:

Maybe wait until they come out and see what the reviews say, but you could take this lower, fill it out with retro parts made by Brownell's (or their contract mfg), and then put a Brownell's upper on top. It will be not be a cheap project, but you could do it if it means a lot to you.

As for the grip: That's easily replaceable if you have a long enough screwdriver (I swap out pistol grips on my AR lowers all the time). If I were you, I'd buy an A1 or A2 grip for display, and then put on that Magpul grip only when you take the rifle to the range.

Yeah, for display, I should swap the grip and for shooting, stick to a more modern grip
