Grand Theft Auto games
So, adding this here. Anyone please the games. Specifically, I just bought GTAIV for my PC.
|
What about them?
|
Just bringing up a topic to talk about. Have you ever noticed that there are no kids, or animals of any kind randomly walking around. Well in GTA IV there are the 100 birds though
|
Have you noticed in GTA IV that the cheapest gun is also the best one? That Glock is a headshot machine if you use it right
|
Played 3 on PC a few eyars ago. Pretty fun but not particularly realistic. San Andreas was much better. Pretty annoyed they didn't include a low gravity cheat or flying cars cheat in 4. But still a pretty fun game.
|
San Andreas was annoyign because you can't drive good until you take driving lessons, or you cant shoot straight because you need to go to the range more often. It's like Grand Theft SIMS. GTA IV was better because right off the bat your driving and shooting is all on your own skills, not something you develop like an RPG
|
Bought and loved them all since III. Vice City is by far my favorite.

According to GTA Wiki, there was a mission in GTA III where you were assigned to blow up a school bus full of kids, but it was cut from the game for reasons obvious to anyone with any shred of morality. |

I've been enjoying the series since 3. Vice City was the coolest, but 4 plays way better than all the others.
Anybody have a favorite weapon? For me, it's the semi auto shotgun. Pretty stupid that you still pump it when firing around a corner, but it has longer range than the pump or auto(from TLAD). I did a "technical pacifist" run through in less than 30 hours, which was fun. The semi shotgun was invaluable for leg shots. |
It really depends on my mood. I use the semi auto shotgun a lot, too.

The point is to not kill anyone gratuitously. "Model Citizen" game.
If I hit somebody with my car, I had to wait there until the ambulance showed up. I made it through the whole game without killing any cops or civies, but I didn't show the same restraint with the gangsters. |
Wow, that's a lot of restrain. In a game like GTA, it's hard NOT to shoot at any random guy you walk pass.

But seriously, I wouldn't really call it "better"... more like killing kids is just much, much worse. Quote:

Dont some GTA missions require killing cops, like the bank robbery, etc.
|
There;s a couple GTA 4 missions where you have to run through the cops.
|
I just use the "clear wanted level" cheat to avoid killing cops
|
I just recently bought GTA 4 for the PC since I dont live with my room mate anymore, so he had his 360. And the helicopter is hard to control on the PC without plugging in a controller.
|
You know, I wish the voice actresses for the girlfriends in GTA IV had put a bit more enthusiasm into their post-date lines when they an Niko are sacking up. I mean, their voice acting is right up there with Claire Redfield calling out to Leon Kennedy in the STARS office in Resident Evil 2 like he's on the other side of town...
|
I used to like to get dwayne to call in his boys and the three of us would have massive car chases where we gunned down everything on wheels. I stole an armored swat van and that chase must have lasted 30 minutes.
|
TELL ME INTERESTING THINGS!!!!
The point was that she isn't actually interested in you. As for the other girls, Kate is a cold fish(and dead, if you play the game right), and... are there any others? |
To get the complete game, you have to hang out with Kate anyway. You get nothing out of it, but yeah. I do wish for better sex cries from the girls you do bang.

I was thinking, "What. The. F---?" lol |
There is something wrong with you Spartan.
On the PC version, aside from terrible controls on the helicopter which are vital for a couple missions, there isn't any auto aim, which can be annoying sometimes when facing a large group. The controls can be a bit hard to grasp and I am used to auto aim. There isn't even option to turn auto aim on or off. It's just not there |

The autoaim has always been a really touchy thing in GTA.
In GTA 3, the autoaim was inconsistent, and pretty awful(unless you played the PC in which case it was just a third person shooter). After that, the auto aim got pretty good. In my opinion, the auto aim in GTA 4 is the BEST example of 3rd person autoaim ever done, HOWEVER it is still not as good as a straight up third person shooter, such as Saints Row. |
Actually the helicopter controls on the console is actually pretty good once you get used to it. On the PC, it's real awkward
|
I almost never use autoaim in any games, i like being able to nail headshots and take one enemies who are behind cover, or select which enemy to take down, like the guy with an rpg is a bigger threat to me than the guy with a glock.
|
In GTA 4, to me, the guy that's a bigger threat is one who I swore I shot and killed and a moment later, he get back up and shoots me when I have my back to him

I said flying controls are good for the console, but for shooting, it's almost impossible
