What is your second favorite handgun?

Say you've got your dream handgun that's your number one and love it to death. What next?

It doesn't have to be practical and better NOT be a cliche like a Desert Eagle, 1911, Beretta. So what other type of handgun aside from the popular ones, would you get?

ManiacallyChallenged 02-23-2010 05:42 AM

DESERT EAGLE!
You see...
You said "and it has not NOT be a cliche like a Desert Eagle"
so I was just taking it from there.

Clutch 02-23-2010 05:42 AM

Well...the Beretta 92FS is my second favorite. It was the favorite for a long time, until the Walther P99 came around...so...I shall call on my third favorite...

Um...uh...

The Heckler & Koch USP Compact. Two reasons:

1) I'm not an operator. I suck. And HK hates me. But I still want this gun. Maybe it's because you just look like you mean business when you're using it. Maybe because it's just dependable and reliable. I dunno.
2) You'd get pissed at me if I said I wanted an M1911A1, wouldn't you?

Spartan198 02-23-2010 06:28 AM

I've been taking a liking to the Ruger P90 as of late.

Yournamehere 02-23-2010 06:30 AM

After shooting it, I'd have to say the Browning Hi-Power is my all around favorite handgun to shoot, so my second favorite gun is probably the 1911. Kinda the same thing except for the caliber and capacity but that's pretty much the order.

Now for really impractical guns or guns low on my list that I'd like to own, definitely a MAC-11 in 9mm. I gotsta be gangstah nah' mean?

ManiacallyChallenged 02-23-2010 09:03 PM

Skorpion! I don't care what kind.

S&Wshooter 02-23-2010 09:07 PM

A Kimber 1911 type pistol, probably a Warrior, (no rails dammit) mainy because I have yet to come across a Kimber I didn't love

Zulu Two Six 02-23-2010 10:46 PM

H&K USP
or MK.23
i know its a boat anchor but i love the mk.23
and the USP has always been my second favorite ''square'' gun

k9870 02-23-2010 11:23 PM

1911s, SIG is number one, but I shoot 1911s well. I dont consider it a "clique" gun.

That's my order also. Though the S&W 4505 is growing on me. So I guess it's my third favorite. I haven't shot any SIG or HK pistols. So I don't know where they would rank.

Zulu Two Six 02-24-2010 02:54 AM

GOD! you keep making me want to change my answer!

Excalibur 02-25-2010 04:59 AM

Well I've always wanted an original CZ-75

That's a close third for me

Excalibur 07-23-2010 08:42 PM

Never heard of a para warthog before

Trouble Magnet 07-24-2010 08:44 AM

HK mk23 ,mostly it's impractical, but it suits the size of my body well, and in general it would be awesome carrying one with me anywhere.

k9870 07-24-2010 12:20 PM

When Im 21 ( 1 year left) I want:

SIG p229 elite dark .40 with 357 barrel.

Fusion 1911 built to my specs.

Smith and Wesson 686 plus 4'' with pachmayr decelerator grips

Ruger LCR 357 (for crry, id use 38s but the weight of the 357 is better, it will help recoil.

CZ 75 9mm With rubber grips, tritium sights and a stainless or nickle finish.

.22 KAdet kit for cz

Holsters and mags for all, Mostly mec gar mags.

Manny 07-24-2010 01:08 PM

Favourite handgun is a Glock/Steyr M

But second favorite would be a customized double stack 1911. Probably from Infinity.

1911 wins because they are so customizable. A scorpion would be nice but they are too heavy. An uzi model would be nice too. Because these pistols have butt stocks built in I don't think they qualify as handguns.

Wicked6 07-29-2010 02:58 AM

Desert Eagle is my personal favorite.

That's nice, but this thread is for your second favorite and seriously? Desert Eagle?

When it jams, whoever you are shooting at will most likely beat you to death with it

You could however beat someone else to death with it cause damn .50 AE bullets are expensive.

If I had a Desert Eagle, I'd sell it and put the money towards an FAL OR I could buy 4-5 Makarovs

Nyles 07-29-2010 10:50 PM

Hmm... Mauser C/96 or Webley revolver I guess. Webley & Scott autos are also pretty high up there though.

I wouldn't want ONE Makarov, let alone 5 of them. I'll take the FAL

You go ahead and duel wield and hit nothing, while I shoot with one and hit everything.

The reverse would be true if life was like a John Woo movie

Excalibur 07-30-2010 02:33 AM

John Wooing guns only work for SMGs and handguns. I have yet to see a John Woo movie where someone duel wields a rifle or machine guns.

I love no particular handgun. When the fancy strikes me, I just go into the vault, pull out a handgun and shoot it. ;) A lot of my friends like their expensive fully customized race guns (usually transmorphed M1911s) but those don't do anything for me. I'm a history buff, so if it wasn't used historically then I'm not interested.

Markost 07-31-2010 02:55 PM

Honestly, IŽve never shot any handgun bigger than .22 lr, so I only can say that my second favorite is the Hi-Power (the first is the Ballester Molina or Ballerina Molester ). Just one year and IŽll be able to buy one of them.

Yournamehere 07-31-2010 05:22 PM

What is your second favorite, Excalibur? You haven't posted anything besides comments.

You might be interested to know I just made a deal on a British-contract Ballester-Molina. You likely know they were issued mainly to the SOE with some going to the 8th Army in North Africa. I'll post some pictures when it arrives.

My dad recently purchased a Ballester-Molina from a friend of his and it's fitted with these unique target grips with a thumb rest. The gun needs to be cleaned up and I think I'll put pearl grips on them (the thumb rest is in the way of the mag release) and then it'll be a nice little piece.
