New boots

I've been wearing the same pair of Bates (http://www.shoeshackonline.com/site/...te=google_base) for 3 years and they're starting to fall apart. If these were any other boots I would just go out and buy another pair, but these took a goddamn year to break in and they start off being as stiff as plywood. Therefore, I have decided that I'm going to try to get the same boots Christian Bale wore in the newest Terminator movie. Problem is, I have no clue what they are. Can ya'll help me out?

Excalibur 01-29-2010 04:50 AM

I still have my old combat boots I wore when I was in Airsoft. Cost me over 100 for them.

Nyles 01-29-2010 07:56 AM

I always buy Magnums back home, as the issue Mk.III combat boot is shit.

I'm not asking for suggestions, I'm asking for the name of a certain pair of boots

Spartan198 01-29-2010 05:18 PM

They're Oakley SI Assault Boots.

S&Wshooter 01-29-2010 09:37 PM

Gawddamn those are expensive boots. Do any of ya'll know of any good boot makers who make classic (not tactical) boots?

Yournamehere 01-29-2010 09:49 PM

I own two pairs of Timberland 6 inch boots and they work fine and look nice too IMO. Ifyou plan on using them a lto you might ant to get some gel soles as the sole in the shoe is pretty hard. I got a pair of brown ones for 70-80 bucks, the black and wheat (the famous gangsta color) will run you somewhere ovr 100 depending on where you get them.

Yeah, those are gonna be my next pair of boots once my 5.11 ATACs wear out in five years or so. :D

S&Wshooter 01-29-2010 10:19 PM

Fuck it, I'm just going to get a pair of jungle boots ( hopefully I can find a pair in size 13 wide instead of the usual size 25 extra skinny)

S&Wshooter 02-01-2010 09:35 PM

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any jungle boots that fit so I bought a pair of Corcorans. They're exactly the same as my current boots except the have a steel shank and are one inch shorter

S&Wshooter 02-09-2010 12:36 AM

I got my Corcorans today and I'm PISSED. The boot they sent me is smaller than they are labeled and apparently, Wide width Corcoran boots are narrower than normal width! I should have gone to Army Surplus and grabbed the largest size boot available

S&Wshooter 07-19-2010 04:30 AM

THREAD NECROMANCY!!!

I bought a pair of Ropers

I'm going to get a pair of cheap Jungle Boots for working and I'm going to use the Bates as camp boots because they stand up to mud better than jungle boots

Gunmaster45 07-19-2010 06:48 AM

I wear size 13 Brahma sneakers. They're work sneakers, have steel toes, are water-proof, shock proof, skid proof, and are only $30. And they look like regular sneakers so I can remain casual.

k9870 07-19-2010 02:38 PM

I replaced the issue shit boot, its heel structurestarts falling apart and digging into your heel. It also didnt feel comfortable. I bought some SWAT brand boots at a surplus store with the zip up side so you dont need to tie them, theyre confortable and sturdy. Not expensive either.

Seems like I had a pair of side-zip boots under that name. The zipper on one of them broke off two months after I got them.

I don't wear sneakers. For some reason I haven't been able to find a comfortable pair since I was 11

That sucks dick. It'd never of happened if you had some nice, leather boots

k9870 07-19-2010 04:40 PM

mine are solid, ive hiked, worked, just worn around, and they work just fine, are confortable, and quick to put on when youre rushing to muster or something.

They were leather... Though I assume you mean regular lace-up boots instead of tacticool side-zips. ;)

At any rate, I'm running (no pun intended) a pair of 5.11 Tactical side-zip ATACs now and they're as durable as an AK.

k9870 07-19-2010 05:54 PM

Mine are leather and cloth, there durable but breathe well

Me neither, that's why I like the Brahmas, they're more like work boots that just look like sneakers.

S&Wshooter 07-19-2010 10:05 PM

The ropers were delivered today. And guess what- they don't fucking fit

Maybe you should try buying your shoes in a store from now on. Do you have REI where you live?

I can't buy shoes locally because no one carries my size

Your size is 13 wide? They sell those in stores, they're just a tad harder to find. I once had to use a shopping cart as a make shift ladder to get the 13s off the top shelf. In short, it hurt.

Not just wide, but EEE. That's extra wide.

S&Wshooter 07-20-2010 01:24 AM

Well, I just found out I'm a size 14 EEE in cowboy boot sizes (diff. than normal shoe sizes). No one makes a 14 EEE. :(

k9870 07-20-2010 01:28 AM

i didnt find out i was a wde until i was 17, good thing i did, wide size is way more confortable then going a size up

Gunmaster45 07-20-2010 08:38 PM

Make your own shoes out of dead deer, like the Native Americans did.
