I just deleted a BUNCH of spam and their users
 

Whew! I just DELETED a bunch of SPAM messages from a bunch of users (and permanently banned the users). When I got rid of one set of spam messages, another series of them popped RIGHT UP.

So if you guys have ANY reason to want to keep (a) gibberish (b) messages in a foreign language about stuff unrelated to IMFDB (c) Viagra Ads (d) Shoe or Handbag Ads (e) wanting to meet new and sexy singles! .... then drop me a message ... and I'll STILL ban them! :D

I know you guys aren't going to believe, I know this sounds a little crazy, but if this was a paid forum most problems with spammers and bots would be solved.

We could make people pay up a small fee like 5 or 10 bucks. We could even use Paypal.

I enjoy forums for a free, fun place with some good discussions. I may pay if it was low, this is my favorite forum since its more laid back and fun. Im against paying though. Think, how many new members would we attract that way?

Same problem in other forums (most of them). There are some patches for the Vbulletin forums, intended to fix the bot problem. No need to pay anything, if it´s on the internet, it´s free.

Then let's install those goddamm patches then. This forum needs a lot of improvement.

My password is cracked again. I tried to input it so I can delete a spam bot, but it said it's wrong. Oddly enough, my PC logs me automaticly onto this site every time I visit, so I don't have to manually type in my password.

I couldn't log in for two days while these spammers were running rampant. This forum is really getting screwy.
