For the Airsofters out there....

I really want to buy this and I don't know where to go:

A Tokyo Marui Desert Eagle .50 AE "Hardkick" in black.

The chrome also looks nice but is more expensive and plus I like the black better.

I keep watching the Matrix and I want an Agent gun to mess around with. I certainly don't want to piss away a $1000 on a real one.

And eBay isn't an option. I don't have Paypal and the only ones who sell them are Paypal only. Hopefully there is a place were it is relatively cheap too.

On eBay it was $120 but on other places, it was as high as $200. I'd settle for maybe $150 tops.

Can anyone help me out?

When I used to be more into airsoft, I usually bought my guns from Red Wolf. They have the TM Eagle in black for $138. Here you go:

Good choice, BTW. It's probably the best of the airsoft Desert Eagles you can buy. It has licensed trademarks, which is always nice (and more realistic).

Nice. Now comes the hard part. Getting enough money.

As far as buying a real one goes, definitely not recommended. Everyone I've known who ever owned a Desert Eagle wound up getting rid of it. It has its fans, of course, but for most people, the novelty wears off pretty fast.

I hate all forms of the Desert Eagle. I mean, it's a cool kick ass gun, but it's HUGE...I really dont think anyone even want to use on cause it's that expensive.

Airsoft wise, it is still heavy, bulky, and just unwieldy. I've met some fanboys who bought one and my sidearms that I have, a custom M92 and a USP tactical, both of mine can kick his ass and doesn't weigh that much.

But up to you if you want a Desert Eagle, don't go for Toyko Mauri, in fact, don't buy any of their plastic shit. If you want a Desert Eagle, KWC makes one that looks like .50AE with a metal slide for about $94. HFC makes a metal one for $69

Excalibur 02-01-2009 10:56 PM

there's a lot of good 1911 variants, USPs, etc

MT2008 02-01-2009 11:01 PM

Tokyo Marui's guns are more realistic detail-wise, which makes them better for collectors. The KWC may be cheaper and more durable, but I can tell you from first-hand experience it's not as realistic in terms of its shape.

Also, Gunmaster, I'm assuming you just want this gun for the sake of collection purposes, not actually playing the game? And even if you did want to get into airsoft, the Desert Eagle is a poor choice for a sidearm, anyway. My sidearm when I played was a Western Arms Beretta 92FS (Perfect Version) with laser-sighted grip.

For me, I'm a seasoned Airsoft player, if you want a wall piece and have the money to mess around with, Toyko Mauri is fine for a play thing. I buy for function. Western Arms makes good Airsoft. They recently came out with gas blow back M4s

Gunmaster45 02-02-2009 02:01 AM

I don't usually play airsoft so basically it would be for novelty purposes.

And usually the gas powered gun hurt and there's one kid I play airsoft with who is rather fun to shoot. It'd be cool to have a nice gun to shoot him with.

And I too hate the Desert Eagle as an actual gun but as a hardkick airsoft, it'd be something fun to mess with.

When I actually DO play airsoft, I use a UHC Beretta 92FS spring pistol (I've bought three, two broke, so I have three spare mags for the good one).

I use this tiny MP5 knock off that is pistol sized and clear. It is pretty accurate and easy to reload so I like it.

Anyway, I figure I'd rather not waste money on a big unreliable gun when I can shell a little bit to own an airsoft one for shits and giggles.

Plus, every time I watch the Matrix, they look so damn cool....

Excalibur 02-02-2009 02:08 AM

That's the point, you've watched too many of the wrong kinds of action movies. I hope when you buy real guns, you don't base it on the action movies you like. I mean, the Matrix is a good movie, but even if I can afford it, I wouldn't be caught dead dual wielding anything and jumping around like a John Woo movie.

Well anyway, all airsoft gun sting a bit, gas guns do sting, but not as much as the right kinds of electric ones.

If you want to buy one for shits and giggles, then don't hurt your wallet buy wasting on even Toyko Mauri guns. Buy a cheapo springer and be done with it.

Yeah I know the feeling. I kept wanting a Tokyo Marui 1911A1, but then my grandparents caved and said I could have a real .45. Still, I would like a half decent fux with airsoft gun, but my money is focused on other stuff, including real guns/gun gear. Maybe when I get a job I'll do something like buy an airgun, but not now.

Excalibur 02-02-2009 02:12 AM

Yeah, I've stopped playing games and started to sell my Airsoft kit. I only have my rifle and a couple of my sidearms left. I plan to buy a real AR-15 rifle eventually and a new sidearm

Gunmaster45 02-02-2009 02:52 AM

I've shot some guns Woo but only to mess around. When I want serious results, I shoot serious. When I watch action movies like the Matrix, I know guns like the Desert Eagle are shown better than they really are, but why not have a little fun? And as for messing around with an airsoft Desert Eagle, I owned a crappy $20 Desert Eagle spring pistol but I really wanted one that cycled on gas. That's what attracts me to it. I watch Matrix and they show all those slow-mo shots of the long action cycling and I think it is cool. Sometimes I like to soak in the "TV bonkaru" and just enjoy the dumb stuff.

BTW, I'm planning on revamping the matrix series, so you'll see some of those neat shots.
