I really have been wanting to say this, but I'm calling you out Gunmaster on your Mail Call page http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Mail_Call . I asked you quietly on the site and messaged you, but you rather have the excuse and call it "better organization", which is bullshit.

You divide the page between "seasons" because you claim it is better for organization. It just confuses people when they see M1 Garand repeated several times. If there are so many guns, why not categorize them in types of guns, handguns, submachine guns, rifles, assault rifles, etc. You have 8 seasons worth of screencapping to do and every season I see a section for M1 Garand is just an eye sore. Put all the screen caps of Garands and M16A1s in one section, limit to 4 to not make the page needlessly long and waste space for the server. You don't need 7 caps of Garands from every season?

I mean, it's like me doing my Unit page or better my Stargate SG-1 page where I categorize in seasons and the show has 10 seasons and at the beginning of each season I start out with the FN P90 10 times with 4 caps each then the Beretta M92Fs they uses, for every season I see it, and the M16s we see. You see how this can be annoying and a waste of space.

And you go bragging that this is the largest page with the most guns, but you are in fact counting the repeats as well. So what gives with this page? i know you took your time screencapping all of these and me telling you that you wasted your time is insulting, but it's true, you wasted your time on this for nothing and it's a show that tells you what guns are being used all the time. Same with Lock N Load. Gunny tells you what he's using most of the time, so what's the point. And don't get me started on Future Weapons

I don't brag, I just put a lot of work into it. I always get called out for using excessive screencaps, and sure, some caps could go, but for instances like the use of the M7 Grenade Launcher, I need more than four images, so I was experimenting with Season categories. I didn't work, but the page is fucking huge, so I'd need lots of time to fix it. I'll redo the format at some point if it's that big of a deal, but I refuse to categorize by firearms class. I hate that form.

Oh, and speaking of bullshit, that's a nice Kimber you got. :cool:

Unless you have a TV show broke down into seasons. You'll pretty much have to. Gunman69 and I have most of the first 2 seasons of Miami Vice done and we're at 75 weapons. It me forever just to find the gun I was adding caps to. It looks way better now that it has firearm classes.

My Unit, Black Lagoon and Stargate SG-1 page has a lot of guns and it took me awhile to reorder them all. I do it for the benefit of people who specifically wonders what handgun or shotgun or rifle is seen, so all they have to do is go to the section marked handgun or rifle and scroll from there, not scroll through the entire page to find one gun.

Actually I don't like the order by gun method, I was thinking of redoing the screenshots for BL without the subtitles and without any black borders if there were any, and then ordering it by episode, as it looks better and would seem more organized. You also did sub-sub sections instead of just sub-sections with the whole type of gun order, so it doesn't look good juxtaposed with almost any other page.

Well that's how I've been doing a lot of my pages. I mean, if the pages have few guns to sort out, less than a dozen, I wouldn't make sub sections for gun types, but to me it seems to work. Also I would have to devote more times to rewatching the series in order to see which weapon appeared first.

Like the Stargate SG1 page. The P90 didn't appear until season 5, so if you list it like that, it'll be way down below, but any fan of the series would want to put the P90 at the top of the list.

My only gripe about this whole order by type of gun thing, is that most people don't write anything in the "Handgun", "Assault Rifle" and the like sections. Write something on them.

Actually for anyone who is wondering what guns were used in the show as a general point, NOT organizing by firearms class is a NIGHTMARE. You can't FIND the gun you're looking for without scrolling through tons and tons of pages, and most viewers just give up. Also the obvious duplication of the firearms throughout the seasons makes the page way longer than it has to be. But ridiculously long pages seems to be a point of contention all on it's own.

But if you're curious what firearm was in a specific episode that you just saw on television, then the seasonal thing makes sense. Say, you just saw an episode of CSI: Peoria (why not, they're making spinoffs every few years), and you saw a gang of bank robbers dressed in ballerina tutus and they had a weird submachine gun. Well you know what season it is, or can find out quickly through sites like IMDB or TV.com. Now that you know the season and episode, you can track down the episode and find the gun.

The two styles appeal to different viewers with different needs. However, if you're ONE or the OTHER, you're completely screwed if the page is in the OTHER style.....

Why can't we have both? Separate the Guns using gun types and separate seasons.

Well the least that Excalibur could do is not order them by sub-sub sections I:E "Handguns" and then labeling all the handguns as sub sections in the "Handguns" sub-section. It doesn't match the other pages and looks like it was done by someone completely different. You can order it by guns for long series, and Black Lagoon isn't that long, which was my only beef as far as the season vs. gun type layout argument was concerned, but don't create a "handguns" or "rifles" section, just put the guns down in type order. It'll be obvious that they are ordered like that, and it looks better. Hell I'm gonna go fix the BL page right now.

Speaking of my Black Lagoon page, someone just messed with it. I had it all ordered under Handguns, shotguns, rifles, and then I look at it now and Handguns and shotgun title are missing

Yeah, that was me. I knida just said I was gonna do that. It looks a lot better now and retains the same order. I'm not done with it yet, there are countless grammar and spelling errors, as well as missing links and picture comments. It'll look a lot better when done.

Well I hate to hit myself, but I did do this page a while ago and I admit at the time I knew nothing on what to do on this site and been too lazy to fix the errors.

And honestly, how is without the sub section that distinguishes types of firearms help? All I see now is a LONG list of guns instead of a neat section of section of guns. Seriously I like my format better. No one else besides you have complained about it. Even MPM thinks my format is good. Change it back

It just matches the other pages better, and looks neater. The titles were bolded and even linked, which is not how they are done generally. Now it's ordered by guns AND looks neat and tidy. We should have all the pages be as similar as possible to make the site look professional, not like a bunca guys decided on their own formats and made their ages based on their ideas. We need as much uniformity as possible. It still needs quite a bit of fixing, too, but the way it is now is definitely better.

It was neat and tidy with my section by gun type. You just don't like my style of order.

Fine, keep it as it is, but help me link all the weapons that I haven't done. It's taking me a hell of a time

Yes, but, and I've said this already, it didn't conform to pretty much every other page. I'm revising it so it does, as well as the typefixes I'm doing. It needs to be revamped, and so I'm revamping it.

Also, don't call me "Name". Say it all, or say the abridged versions YNH, or H, like I say on my userpage.
