So has Cutaway created a gun page for it yet? :D

Excalibur 05-04-2009 04:51 AM

This gun was once on my top list of ugly ass guns

http://world.guns.ru/assault/as86-e.htm

MT2008 05-04-2009 04:54 AM

That thing looks like the firearm equivalent of a genetic mutation. Somebody put it out of its misery.

More like that guy was some idiot's way of trying to make a bullpup AK, but failed at it

Gunmaster45 05-04-2009 08:22 PM

Maybe I'm just wierd but I kind of like it. It's ugly but there's something about it that sparks my interest.

Krel 05-05-2009 01:19 AM

I like em', they remind me of toy ray guns from the 50's, even down to the color of the plastic. I wonder if they used this one, http://www.toytent.com/RayGuns/2340.html as a design inspiration?

David.

Per your toy ray gun. HOLY CRAP! $2400+ for a toy gun? I guess rare toy collectors are like collectors all over the planet......

k9870 05-05-2009 02:38 AM

BTW, whats the reference to cutaway mean? does he like ugly guns, or something?

ManiacallyChallenged 05-05-2009 08:33 AM

Man, I gotta say I'm going with GM45 on this one, I really like the look of that.
Certainly not the best thing ever, but it's sleek and the finish is cool if not exactly mind-blowing.

It looks really small, almost FN P-90 sized.

EDIT: Waaaaaait. What about the Hi-Point handguns? Everytime I see one I just... want to go to sleep or something. I tell myself repeatedly nothing is wrong with them, but it's hard to lie through my teeth that much.

Nyles 05-05-2009 09:46 PM

Actually the Hi Point guns are supposed to work pretty well considering the price tag, and I find how they're made neat. I like them in concept if not in form.

Also, my vote for the ugliest gun I've ever seen goes to the Evans sporting rifle. Look it up.

k9870 05-05-2009 10:04 PM

American made:

They wanted to replace m16, ended up with epic fail #2

http://world.guns.ru/assault/as78-e.htm

And saying hi points work well for the price isn't saying much, some people will call you a gun snob for bashing them, but you cnat get past questionable reliability (seriously, that many people commenting on "they honored my warranty and customer service is good) there shouldnt be that many returned guns, and ive heard of lots of hi point snot doing well. They shoot about minute of man, but have poor trigers and unconfortable grip. Hi points just suck

ManiacallyChallenged 05-06-2009 12:44 AM

That #2 epic fail you mentioned looks like a piss-poor imitation of the German FG 42.
Like it's bulimic cousin or something.

What the shit is wrong with you two?

Also, A thread about ugly guns isn't complete until someone mentions the Enfield EM-2:
http://world.guns.ru/assault/as59-e.htm
Thank god they and the rest of the Commonwealth went with the L1A1.

And what about the Royal fuck ups that were the Airburst Rifles?

Man, were those a waste of billions of dollars. It's reasons like that that I say the military needs to start looking at currently existing platforms if they want to replace the M16/M4 instead of wasting billions on crackpot dead-end schemes like the XM29 and XM8.

Thing about that is, like someone said previously on this forum somewhere, there's really nothing in existence that offers enough of an improvement to warrant the scrapping of millions of up-to-spec M16s and M4s. And the fact that we're involved in two wars just complicates things. Iraq aside, there's no telling how long we'll be in Afghanistan.

Ace Oliveira 08-06-2009 02:43 AM

At least the XM8 was just a Rifle. Unlike the XM29.

Yeah, that's true.

Maybe HK can sell the XM29 to Skynet?

I wonder why most Experimental Abominations either come from the United States or the Soviet Union or Russia.

Gunmaster45 08-06-2009 04:02 AM

Other countries have common sense? ;)

Thank the Cold War for a lot of advances and back lashes of weapon development. And in the past 100+ years, the US had made up a lot of oddities that more than likely didn't make it pass prototype stages and barely needs a mention. And the US and Russia for a long while and continuing has a lot of money floating around, and people with interesting ideas on how to reinvent the firearm. It's all about who has the most money and people with enough time on their hands. I mean has any of you ever seen a bullpup version of the SKS?

Ugly looking, but it still looks kind of cool.

Excalibur 08-06-2009 07:23 PM

The Muzzelite bullpup Mini 14 looks prettier
