The Unit

Anyone ever watch this series? Or am I the only one who does?

MT2008 12-01-2008 01:11 AM

Oh, yeah, I watch it a lot now. I'm a bit of a latecomer, but I finally got into it this summer. So far I've seen most of Season 1 and 2, some of Season 3, and every episode of Season 4 so far. Plus, I work with quite a few ex-servicemen who are big fans of the show, so it gives us something to talk about. :)

Have you checked out my page of the Unit? Did a lot of work on it.

Yep, I was doing corrections on it and giving you advise and stuff, remember? :)

Dunno who's gonna top it in terms of the # of guns anytime soon.

Well, yeah, cause you usually RENT to these productions and have to be on-set babysitting all those dumb liberal actors who would probably try and shoot each other with blanks if you weren't around. :)

Does your company ever rent to "The Unit"? Judging by the armorer credits on IMDB, it looks like they mostly rent from Cinema Weaponry, but I imagine they rent from you, too?

The Unit

Excal,
The Unit is not done for the season; they've just shut down for the holidays and will come back on Jan 5. There are still another 7-8 episodes yet to film. Hopefully the ratings will improve so they'll get picked up next season.

I figured as much that they aren't done and I'm hoping for more episodes and newer guns to show up. It's been fun getting caps to some of the guns that pop up unexpectedly.

The Unit is an outstanding series, I'm particularly pleased to find it has an entry on here, as has been stated above the sheer volume and variety of weaponry used in it makes it almost worthy of an encyclopedia all to itself...!

Why thank you. I do my best

This is my absolute favorite show (even surpassing WWE!). I've got seasons 1-3 on DVD and watched every single episode over a span of 3 days, and have my two favorite episides from season 4 (Into Hell, parts 1 &2) saved on my PS3 until it releases on DVD.

i love how they shoot doublke taps with m4s instead of unloading half a clip from the waist like most movies/shows, the Unit is one of thje best out there

Excalibur 03-05-2009 05:15 PM

This show and Ultimate Force are my favorite military tv series.

That's one of the first things I noticed, though it was in a later episode after I first started watching ("SERE" being the first episode I saw).

One other thing I like is how they have a female member realistically portrayed. Ever notice Sullivan stays in a support role, and isn't out in actual combat? And the reasoning for having her is good too.

Two episodes she did fight, one she was support when the police outpost was attacked, but she wasn't out patrolling or anything. Another she rescued Bob, but it was a role only she could really do at the time and it was more of a surveillance mission gone wrong.
