Looks like it's gonna be pretty good. FINALLY, a movie about the Iraq War that isn't another moronic liberal anti-war propaganda piece.

Good to see a positive view of U.S.soldiers, whens this movie due out?

It's been shown at a whole bunch of film festivals, but it's finally getting a mainstream release date on June 26th.

Ill be in A school then. Maybe I can get a copy though.

Man, I dunno. War movies are typically boring I've always thought.
Especially modern ones where even the biggest set piece conflict isn't really that impressive.

I don't know, looks like they Hollywoodized and dramatized it too much. Generation Kill has pretty much made that kind of stuff unwatchable, much like cheesy crime/cop movies and shows are unwatchable after seeing The Wire.

It's a great thriller movie, but you have to watch it with the mindset that the filmmaker isn't so much trying to depict Iraq realistically as using it as a backdrop to explore the motivations of the characters.

So...getting back on topic, I just saw this movie tonight. It's really good. I highly recommend it, if you can find it playing anywhere near you. It seems pretty absurd that this movie hasn't gotten a wide release yet, because the Indie theater where I went was almost packed with people who wanted to see it (on a Sunday night!)
