Nudity in Screencaps
 

Hey All,
I've done a bunch of screencaps for the film Doomsday and I've had an issue with nudity come up as there is a sceen where a bathing Blonde woman pulls a currently unknown shotgun and starts blasting. While I have managed to get a picture that hopefully does not show anything. I would like to get everyone's opinion about what to do should there be a scene where the only clear shot of a weapon has nudity in it?

I think the censorship of the site is kind of hypocritical, as we are all adults, or mature enough to handle some body parts not typically seen. Yes I understand kids go on the site to see what the latest action movie has Ahnuld shooting, but the movies we cap are usually rated by the MPAA for certain age groups to view (this includes the single frames we make screencaps out of), so the only ones that should be held responsible are the viewers, as they know what the movies are rated, and are viewing the pages with that knowledge. Besides, how many instances of swearing, violence and gore do we see on the site, huh? Is that worse than a pair of tits? I think not.

But hey, I'm just one person.

I've never done any movies where this has been an issue. When John screencapped "The Whole Nine Yards", he put a black bar over Amanda Peet's tits. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any other IMFDB pages where this had to be done, but I guess he decided to take precautions.

I dunno how Bunni feels about this. I can ask, of course. However, some of the very first quotes in our "Quote of the Day" heading were put in by him, and have the word "fuck" in them. Since then, we've added lots of quotes that have that word (I've added a few myself). If there's no issue with that language, I can't imagine it would be any different with nudity.

I don't mean to be offensive in pointing out screencaps but I have seen one thing I'm concerned about on the Mr. Brooks Page. When Mr. Brooks is about to execute the naked couple in bed you see a reflection in a mirror showing nudity. I've also seen another one of Gunmasters Page on Crank showing censored image of an AK-47 (but not nude).

Since I'm not an adult :D you guys should be better role models....

Meh, I'm mentally an adult. I figured you could barely see anything in Mr. Brooks so I didn't bother censoring it. For the Whole Nine Yards, I figured I might get in trouble for uploading so many pics of a naked chick, so I censored it. I did the same for Crank because it was two naked chicks making out...

I think bunni is okay with it, he uploaded the cap in Sin City where Carla Gugino is naked.

I'd recommend you just put a black bar over the naughty stuff so no one reports the site for having pornographic images or some shit. Besides, no one's gonna focus on the guns if there's a naked chick in the picture.

Don't worry; we'll still hassle you about stuff that matters. Do your homework. Eat your greens. Brush your teeth and floss.

If they visit the site for the reason it exists, and is meant to be viewed, GM, then no one is going to focus on naked chicks when there's guns in the picture. It's just a bonus.
Also, I feel censoring is kinda dumbwhen you could just not post the screencap. The times when we've had nudity in one cap, there have been other images of the gun, and you don't need every single frame to prove the gun was in the movie, just one or a few good ones. And, again, down with needless censorship, blah blah blah................

I more or less coincide with Yournamehere's opinion on the matter.

Well it looks like you've already posted DUDE'S bare asses (Your Thin Red Line combat pics) so the flood gates are open........

Just like we give disclaimers to potentially offensive (Unamerican or offensive content like pro-Nazi, Anti Semitic, Pro Al Qaeda, Hillary Clinton Sex tape, etc. etc.) we can also give disclaimers to any screenshot that contains 'some' nudity so that the viewers know that the page is NOT work safe.

Remember, KRUSTY the clown endorses screen nudity .... so it must be okay!

That reminds me....Does Anyone know what sort of Shotgun the "Bathing Blonde" is useing in Doomsday. I've been distracted by friends who don't know much about firearms and are easily distracted by a large set of tits.

BTW; it would be a hoot to do a movie where there is a room full of naked women and they're all firing cool guns at something (or each other). Talk about a 'chore' screencapping THAT! hahahaha.

I was wondering what you were talking about because I didn't remember taking any nudity caps for that flick, but I looked back and realized there was the shot with the guy killing himself with the Nambu 14. Behind him are some dead Japanese soldiers, stripped down to their underwear. So while I had no idea they were even in the shot, they are actually wearing those wierd Japanese thongs, not naked.

What are you implying? My knowledge of obscure guns doesn't go past the Springfield XD?

Nope, He was saying that "apparently" you preference leans towards the XD. Is that true? I don't remember that, but given your choices, the obscure guns would have an overabundance of XDs showing up because of your preference towards them. that's my take on it. I don't even know if you LIKE the XD :D But it would make my uploaded pics of the XD happy to have a bigger page ;)

Gunmaster, Im just saying in the other 2 threads (movie and video game) i referenced seeing guns that are common in daily life that get overlooked for video games, you started talking xd, and said you like xds in another recent thread too. It seems you like them. Although im sure youd put in a model 14 and a bunch of other stuff too.

Yeah, I think the XDs are okay. I'd rather take a 1911 though. I have a vast list of unknown guns I could add but some of them are TOO obscure. A google search wouldn't find some of them. I've always liked the Remington Model 10 shotgun, I believe it was the first bottom ejecting shotgun ever made, and the take-down system puts it in two pieces in under ten seconds (very handy). I love the Browning A5 series, preferabley the Brownings, because the Remington Model 11 and Savage Model 720 are a little cheapened and they don't have the magazine cut-off to insert single rounds into the breach. I have a fondness for the Franchi 48 shotgun, it's really light and based off the A5 series. My dad specially built one for my grandpa when he went blind in his right eye. A red-dot sight is mounted on the left so he can use his left eye to aim.

I like the Savage Model 24, an O/U with a 20 Gauge under-barrel and a .22 LR upper barrel. I have a camping version with an 18" barrel and pistol grip, stainless steel. I like the Smith & Wesson 39 9mm, it's accurate and fun to shoot. My mom owns one with pearl grips (which look nice but suck for gripping, there's no friction and it slips too easily). The only thing I don't like is the magazine safety. It has to be in the gun to fire :rolleyes:. While gigantic, the Ruger Super Redhawk with a 9.5" barrel and scope is a formidable weapon, I can destroy coffey cans with it. Loud though.

If you want obscure guns, I could list the stuff my dad keeps in the back of his shop, I could make a huge list in a day. I think a video game should allow you to enter an authentic gunshop and pick whatever you want. That'd be cool.

And types of ammo, like fmj for shooting through cover and such or jhp/jsp for stopping power. I hate how most games have the stereotypical loadout, even in COD4 the russians were using m9s and no makarovs in sight. And it seems every "sniper" rifle, even civilian rifles, needs to be an m40 or dragunov

I find retarded that we are a site dedicated to GUNS that were designed to kill people and we have to bullshit around about Nudity. That's stupid.

hey buddy, guns were NOT designed to kill people. The rifle was built for hunting purposes. Later it was discovered that they were effective at killing a man. Handguns, however, were designed for giving a man the power of six men aka better at killing

So they were designed to kill animals then. Thanks. Still way more violent than sex.

We cannot judge firearms for their original intended usage. The CANNON was the first firearm designed, built to kill and seige. The handgunn came next, which was a portable cannon one knight could carry and fire. Then came the matchlock Arquebuss, which was the first shoulder fired weapon made. It was very inaccurate (it did not end chivalary though, economics did). Then the terrible wheel-lock attempted to replace it. It failed. The Flintlock came next, and the invention of "rifling" made muskets into accurate rifles. Then in Scotland they invented the perucussion rifle. Then came rimfire metallic cartridges. And then centerfire.

But the reason we cannot judge firearms is because humans themselves are killers in nature, as the firearm was. But we don't all kill, do we? And neither do guns. My guns are sporting arms strictly. I don't even hunt anymore.

Well, you got me there. I still find stupid to ban anything with nudity and acting as if violence was better.

Like I said at the beginning of this thread, it makes no sense why sex and swearing are censored and violence is not when we are more likely to curse and have sex than kill anyone. :D

I only censored a few of my screencaps because I figured it was site regulations and didn't want to get banned for uploading pictures of naked people. If it's a big deal, I'll replace them with non-censored images, but that seems a little unecessary right now. :o

Besides, who doesn't like to look at a big pair of natural tities?

On a different note though, there are other sites on the internet if you need to look at boobs. I don't think IMFDb is the site to be checking out naked girls on. :rolleyes:

Guns are for self defense and hunting, not killing people. You may need to kill someone with one to defend yourselves but saying the killing of humans is their primary purpose is just fueling liberals.

Well, it was to Kill the enemy. In case of self defense, the enemy is the criminal. In the military case, the enemy is the warring nation.

Firearms meant for combat are really only a small slice of the pie. Movies may focus on / glorify that part, but the vast majority of people own guns with no intention of ever having to kill anybody. Comments like that just make gun owners look bad to the general public and give people a reason to think we shouldn't be allowed to own them.

Shit, guys. Guns are cool. I mean, it doesn't matter what it was designed to do. Truckloads of things were designed to be used by the damm Nazis. Doesn't mean they suck.

I like to use my guns to shoot targets. That's all. I like knowing proper stance and combat shooting training, but for experience mainly. If I do something, I like to be good at it and look good doing it.

If necessary, I would use a gun to protect my family's lives but I don't stay up every night with a loaded shotgun pointed at the door, waiting for some dumb fucker to rob me. That's just assinine. I like to be prepared but hope I never require the tools of my preparation. My Mossberg "Cruiser" and a box of shells are in a safe place, and I hope they remain there, the unused shells gathering dust.

I don't share the same mentallity my father does (he doesn't like "assault weapons", as he doesn't like guns built to "kill" that make other guns look bad). He experienced the Clinton ban first hand so of course he has some hard feelings towards "assault rifles" and the like. I just admire the craftsmenship, and enjoy shooting them for fun.

And weren't we discussing nudity in films? :o
