Is anyone else getting tired of those CloudFlare error messages?

Everytime, I surf the database for a period of time, the site ends up giving me this CloudFlare Error message, making me unable to use the site for 5-10 mintues. Does anyone else of this same problem?

predator20 09-10-2011 07:42 PM

Yup. It was really annoying last week, when I was deleting all that crap that got created. Work for 2 min then quit for 5 to 10.

I just click on the option to try a "live" version of the site and I'm back in business.

I know it's typically down completely for a half-hour or so sometime around 10am GMT (I guess it's the server updating), but the minor ones you can usually bypass by clicking the link to get the live version.

Were you able to still get on the forum this morning? I couldn't get in until a few minutes ago.

Swordfish941 09-13-2011 04:49 PM

I could get on this morning but I couldn't get on until this afternoon.

Not good guys - I didn't realize everyone was having this much difficulty constantly. Is it like this on a daily basis? The site was down for 4 hours, 5:33 to 9:30 pst today due to an unrelated server crash.

Also check out this alt Main Page, what do you think? http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Main_Page_2

The feed feels a bit squished on the left.

What resolution is the display you're viewing it on? I may need to increase its min width, or decrease the size of the screenshots 50-100px.

Maybe center the screencaps in the FA section instead of having them to the left.

Not sure what you mean.

Don't know how it would look, is switch the FA and DYK to left and latest discussion etc to the right.

I'm at 1024x768. It's a little better when my browser is at full screen.

That's an excellent idea. And I just got a Cloudflare error message. Refreshed and it went away. WTF

Does anyone else keep getting a 502 Bad Gateway error?

I get Cloudflare error messages every day. I would guess the majority of the time. Which is why my contributions have been so sporadic recently. I try to upload new pics, and I get a message and I can't get in for 10 minutes. After a while, you just quit and do something else..... :(

I've turned cloudflare off for all page editing. Now it will only cache the images and text on the site, but not get in between you and the server when editing a page.

Let's see if that makes a difference.

Evil Tim 09-28-2011 01:13 AM

Granted this is one of our Captchas rather than one of Cloudflare's, but seriously:

What the hell?

That looks like hebrew to me as it's not as fluid looking as Arabic. Unfortunatly my computer does not carry the script for it as I have no reason to write the language.
