Avatars?
 

Wondering if regular members will eventually be allowed them? I know right now its the way to tell a mod. Is there a way to put a moderator tag on mos an just give everybody avatars?

Yeah, at present the only option to set an avatar we get on the CP is "no avatar." I guess it's to stop those spambots setting non-worksafe avs or something, but it shouldn't be too hard to set up a "confirmed users" usergroup for people we know are actual people and giving that group the right to set their av.

Avatars would be great. No avatars makes Sexual Harassment Panda a saaaaad panda.

It was brough up once i believe in randomness that avatars were being used to identify mods a while back. I think it was mt that said that.

I have a great picture of me in full recoil with an M79 grenade launcher. I was thinking of useing that as a new Avatar myself.

Well I think its unanimous we all want avatars.

That derailed so quickly that we never got an actual response...



Besides, can't the mods' accounts be edited in the administrator's CP so that "Senior Member" is replaced with "Moderator", much like how Bunni's says "Administrator" under his name?

Any word from mod/admin world?

Well I'm a mod and I don't have any heartburn with this proposal. But Bunni runs the show so talk to him.

I just noticed mt2008 also has an admistrator tag, while the other mods dont, but it means its possible. Bunni hasn't replied but lets hope for the best.

Would our avatars be what our profile pics are now, or will they be two seperate things

They're seperate, you're profile picture is shown only on your profile page, your avatar is shown with every post.

No ability to upload an Avatar yet.

Avatars are on now for everyone, only admins can use animated avatars... but I'm not really a fan of animated gifs on a page...
