Let's stop using photobucket on the forums.
 

Photobucket is probably the worst image hosting site. What use is an image host with a bandwidth limit? I use imgur for all my image hosting needs.

There are other's out there that work the same way, that's just the one I happen to use.

Imageshack can be unreliable sometimes, but not as unreliable as photobucket.

So I should just trash my whole photobucket account based on the fact that you don't like it?

No, that's not what I suggested at all. Imgur and other sites like it are purpose built for hosting images intended for forum posts. Photobucket is not. All I'm asking is that people use one of those sites for posting images on this forum, or any other forum. It's frustrating to scroll through a picture thread and see half of the posts made of multiple placeholder thumbnails from photobucket notifying me that the user's bandwidth allowance has been exceeded.

I'm not making demands of anybody. I can't imagine why anyone would intentionally choose photobucket over any other site to host an image post, so I assume it's a matter of not knowing about alternatives. Obviously it's not something that can be enforced, but if it could be acknowledged as an official preference it might be helpful.

I know on the somethingawful forums they state in the rules that it is preferred that any image host besides photobucket is used (a preference not a hard and fast rule). Before imgur was launched the users there created waffleimages as an alternative to photobucket, but I can't advocate for that here because it's run on the private servers of SA forum users specifically for images posted to SA.

A whole bunch images there weren't showing up. Whether or not the images load from photobucket is variable depending on how many people are viewing the thread.

But it's POI. He manages to say something 'douchy' every three days or so! :D

Looks like Tinypic doesn´t like argies. But, as far as I know, they are blocking us because nobody wants to pay for a Premium Account.

I'm only at 5% of my Bandwidth, so it's not a question of it being exceeded, I just delete images after a certain period of time unless they have a specific purpose.

I use photobucket all the time and I never really see what the problem with it is. Well the website does do these revisions that annoys the hell out of me, like bulk uploading is a pain to me now.

Zulu, calm down. POI is a person on an internet forum whom you have never met. Just because he has written more than a few annoying posts, doesn't mean you must brand him spawn of Satan and despise his existance. In this instance he's at least being somewhat level headed, he's not being sarcastic or anything.

What did he do to piss you off? State a preference for paintball?

Remember my description of the kid who pokes you with a stick and you tell him to stop and he says "I'm not doing anything" and then he does it again. It's not an all out assault, but it's a cumulative build up of frustration and rage against his incessant contrariness.

But in the future, guys, there's no need to respond to PoI (assuming he keeps trying to re-register via other computers and IPs - and as we've seen already, he's such a loser that he's actually willing to do this).

Why do I get the feeling that people are going to be opening up the good booze* when POI gets introduced to the joys of prison sex? Really he's starting to seem alot like a junior version of Gunkid (an Infamous Internet troll of firearms forums). Given the way he acts here it seems totally plausable that he's messing with people IRL too.

* Ok he's not worth the $200 a bottle stuff. maybe a can of the cheapest stuff from the liquor store next to my work.

Okay, now I have to ask you. How old are you? If you are under a certain age, you probably have not been made aware of some of the more famous forum trolls over the years.

Also the crack about POI in prison, I think it was just wishful thinking on the posters' part. The hypothesis is that POI just 'doesn't get it' and will eventually cross the line 'some day' and end up with a jail term. The fact that he was sarcastic back to me when I was pointing out in a previous thread that he was guilty of copyright violation, he just didn't seem to give a damn. That cavalier attitude towards (a) annoying, bad or just plain wrong activity and (b) more importantly ILLEGAL activity usually ends up with that person doing something epic, stupid and bad :)
