on the COD:Black ops page, fivetwoseven decided to just start deleting posts when they arent directly about guns. The discussion pages have always been for general talk about a movie, tv show, or video game. So now things like "I think it was a good cast." will be delted, but saying "yeah thats a famas in the screenshot" are allowed to stay. Hes jut started delteting posts at will like he owns the place.

New users randomly deleting posts that aren't a part of THEIR threads (like people answering a question that THEY posted, if someone answered YOUR question, you can delete the thread after it's been answered), is FORBIDDEN.

Tell him to knock it off or a MOD will ban him temporarily. :mad:

Why on earth would somebody even think to bother with editing a discussion page???

I hope I got through to him. It's best to be polite at first. Then if that doesn't work, harsher measures need to be used.

Good job!!! You should ALWAYS be polite first. I've made that mistake in the past and I've repented. Noobs can be excused for making mistakes. That's why they're noobs. I always remember back to when I first started here, I was pretty arrogant (NO JOKES! lol) but even if I knew more than any particular member, it meant nothing if I was being a jerk about it. But it's hard when you find yourself fighting with a 12 yr old Call of Duty player who is arguing with you about movie guns! :D

You have been at bit harsh sometimes to a member when they didn't follow the rules. But you have gotten better. Even though I have never met or talked to you in real life. I see you as Walter Sobchak "Doesn't anybody give a shit about the rules!" Not that you would pull a firearm on somebody.

Actually, I'm not so sure that's such a good thing. On most Wikis, discussion unrelated to the topic of the page is not allowed. That's not to say it doesn't happen (I'm looking at a Wikipedia page now where people express opinions), but it's not really the norm.

Also, remember that just because the Mods have tolerated something in the past doesn't mean it's a good idea. We're humans, too, and we live and learn. It might be worth considering whether we want to ensure that the focus of the Discussion pages remains the guns in the movie/TV show/game in question.

On the other hand, FiveTwoSeven has no right to run around acting like he's a Mod when he's not (and making giving us real Mods worse reputations than we already have).

I was teasing a little. But you weren't really POLITE. You were stern and professional and no nonsense. You were like the bailiff saying "Ma'am, please stand up. The Judge wishes to speak to you at the bench......."

My low tolerance level usually comes after a bad day on the set :) Or dealing with really really REALLY STUPID people in the biz. :) My apologies.

I kind of figured that's probably what it was You love guns, but have to deal with people who want guns in their films, but hate them also.

It's the people who say "I hate guns" "I think they should be banned"

and then they bitch about not having a bigger gun ... and they get bitchy when you grab the gun back because they 'horseplay' with the weapon or start endlessly dry firing it, against your explicit instructions.

I find that gun haters are also the most childish people on the planet. :D
