Magnum Research Epic Naming Fail

LOL couldn't they come up with something better? |
Great. Now all those pricks who call M1911's "Desert Eagles" are now going to be technically correct

"It took 100 years for the 1911 to earn the name desert eagle" ...Seriously, who do they think they are? |
Dude, whoever decided to name it "Desert Eagle" needs to be kneecapped.
|
Not the "shot in the knee" kneecap, but the "won't be walking for a few weeks" blunt force kneecap
|
The dumbass who came up with the name should have his balls busted so hard he can't have kids or take a piss.
|
The balls have nothing to do with taking a piss

That would be all different kinds of hell

the person who came up with this shit has NO balls!!!! |
Why are we talking so much about balls?
|
Because we're dudes!
and testoterone is flowing through our bodies! :D but back on topic magnum research is fucked up in the brain |
And to derail the topic once again...
It's really fuckin' cold! |
This is most definitely the most fucked up fail of all time.
|
Whuh, wha... no. Wait. No. What?
Why would they DO that? |
Where the hell are the copyright laws??
|
Oddly enough, being completely ignored
|
There are no copyrights on the 1911. The patent for the design ended years ago, which is why there are so many clones. The design became free to everyone when it expired. As annoying as it is, they have fullrights to make their own 1911.
|
I hate the new trend of big billboarded logos on 1911, especially something stupid like "desert eagle."
Cant more companies make smooth slides with nothing on them? |
We should petition the name
|
I suppose it's not like they haven't done this before, though. After the Desert Eagle became a big Hollywood star, they renamed the Jericho (their only practical handgun) to "Baby Eagle".

1911 Desert Eagle is a pretty gay name but not the biggest naming fail in fire arms (EAA Witness Hunter).

Also, I'm pretty sure the Desert Eagle's Hollywood stardom began before the Jericho was introduced (1990). It had already been in movies like "Commando", "Red Heat", and "RoboCop" by that time. |
and the jericho isn't even the israelis gub, its czs.

Yeah I agree. We don't look at every pistol ever made and think of it as a shameless 1911 knockoff, even though the gun has inspired countless other designs. The differences, sometimes drastic ones, are usually the important than the similarities. I consider the Jericho as it's own gun built on the CZ pattern, not a "CZ knockoff".
