I've seen this all over the place lately

k9870 01-05-2011 03:54 AM

Im not a kel tec fan but they're prices are okay and this looks like a fun gun.

BurtReynoldsMoustache 01-05-2011 06:07 AM

It's been done before.

The noestead was mass produced and able to be bought by civilians in the united states? NO WAY !!!!! Sweet!!!!!

The Wikipedia article says only in Europe. BATF didn't allow its importation to this country. I'm pretty sure that if they were available here, we'd have seen them on retailers' sites by now (and a quick Google search turns up nil).

Spades of Columbia 01-05-2011 07:09 PM

I am for sure adding that to my order this year...and might even get one for myself. You know...a back-up zombie gun!

k9870 01-05-2011 08:03 PM

MT2008, I was being sarcastic. But if price is good the gun is unique and has a lot of cool features, seems like it would be a fun shooter.

Then add an emoticon next time (like the :D or :o , for starters). Without those, it's not so obvious that you are being sarcastic.

k9870 01-05-2011 11:23 PM

To be fair I have said something to my friends sarcastically but with a straight face several times. Or told a joke and had people think i was being serious, which is always funny:cool:

ManiacallyChallenged 01-06-2011 02:48 AM

That does look like a Neostead.
Hate to say it, but I want one now. :D
That'd be a great action movie piece, I hope we see it one soon.

k9870 01-06-2011 02:59 AM

I hope they make a pmr-30 in 22lr, theres no .22s that hold over 10 rounds for some reason.

Yeah, and usually when someone does that, they're regarded as an asshole.

Yournamehere 01-06-2011 08:01 AM

I got your joke, k9870. Been there, done that, accepting the title of "asshole" the entire time too. People are also regarded as an asshole if they try and be right all the time too though, Matt, all respect. I've been there and done that too. : D

ManiacallyChallenged 01-06-2011 12:24 PM

Just skimming through this...
The new Kel Tec shotgun is an asshole for imitating the Neostead? Or are there two subjects, one of which is off topic?
:) Play nice.

Granted. But I know I'm not right all the time.

ManiacallyChallenged 01-07-2011 12:28 PM

Focus!
Anyway, I'd like to see a pic of just much stuff you can add to one of these. Optics, lasers, gangster grips, other smaller guns....

k9870 01-07-2011 04:16 PM

Its got a nice top rail and backup sights.

Markost 01-11-2011 12:55 AM

Nice. Letīs see if somebody import them to Argentina.

There is like a .00000000000000000000000000001% chance that will ever happen

Usually, firearms came here a little late. For example, the Sig 522 came 6 or 7 moths after the rifle was being sold in the Usa. If you want one, you just have to talk with the importer... but you have to wait.

I was under the impression that something like this would not even be made available to the civilians. I guess I was wrong. Oh well, you learn something new every day

ManiacallyChallenged 01-12-2011 12:26 PM

Well it's Kel Tec, they pretty much make civilian arms, right?
Unless they're trying to break into the police or military market, but I don't think so.

Spades of Columbia 01-12-2011 11:52 PM

I already have a couple of my sales reps keeping a eye open for a listing on these bad boys. This way i have a chance at getting one of the firsts off the production line. I cant wait to add this to the safe, but knowing Kel-Tec I'll have to wait atleast three more months.

k9870 01-13-2011 12:15 AM

Give us an idea what it will cost.

they havent released that info yet...most likely waiting for Shot show. But they did release a video online which makes it look like the gun kicks like a horse on crack.

k9870 01-13-2011 12:44 AM

I want one for recreation.....If its priced well.

ManiacallyChallenged 01-14-2011 01:43 AM

Damn. Watched the vid, now I don't want one anymore.
No use having a shotgun that tries to jump away from you every time you use it.
Light weight have something to do with it? Something that small and made of polymer can't be very heavy.

k9870 01-14-2011 01:44 AM

He may have been firing full bore magnums, not holding it tight. Have to see more vids more shooters.

ManiacallyChallenged 01-15-2011 03:24 PM

The last round fired in the video was said to be a Magnum round, but I think the rest weren'.

King of the Waste's 01-20-2011 07:12 PM

I want this shotgun so much, but I live in California....

k9870 01-21-2011 01:24 AM

California wouln't allow it? I thought they only cared about detachable mags?

It holds 15 ROUNDS!!!...what part of 15 rounds would lead you to believe it would be california approved?

k9870 01-21-2011 04:03 PM

The old federal ban only applied to detachable mags, a 11 round tube in a lever gun was cool.....I was thinking cali only cared about detachable magazines.

FIVETWOSEVEN 01-21-2011 05:17 PM

I wouldn't call this mall ninja, Many people have a pump loaded with buckshot next to their bed with slugs in a sidesaddle, this gun with a flip of a switch allows you to switch to slugs instead of loading a slug in the gun.

Kel Tec is planning on bringing out conversion kits for the PMR 30 and the RMR 30 to allow the use of .22 LR.

k9870 01-21-2011 05:20 PM

a high cap .22lr pistol is cool, smith made a couple 12 rounders and is bringing it back for the .22lr M&P pistol, but almost nobody makes mags over 10 rounds. The KSG looks useful but i know its a mall ninja wetdream too.

I was wrong...i reviewed California state laws on shotguns and it fit the bill. It 26" over all and it a pump so it does fit the "Assualt Shotgun" class.

k9870 01-21-2011 11:49 PM

Just saw an update on it. The trigger system...well....sucks. They made it so you need to let it go forward, then cycle, to fire again. Most shotguns you can hold trigger back, cycle, then release and pull back to fire. Kel tec then said "we will make law enforcement only models that slamfire." (like a older ithaca 37.)

So there you go, we civilians pay a ton of money for a gun with a neutered trigger and dont deserve the cool trigger......

ManiacallyChallenged 01-22-2011 02:31 PM

Yep, I saw that video. Looks like a huge liability.
That with the massive recoil...
This is a gun for action movies and video games.

k9870 01-22-2011 02:50 PM

I thought it would be the ultimate recreational/cool make your friends jealous shotgun. Now that crappy trigger design makes me not want one. ill just look a t an arsenal saiga.
