Nothing is better than bringing a backstrap sammich to school and telling everybody "You see this here sammich? I killed it myself"

Because of the limit on how many deer I can kill.

Is anyone else going to post on this thread or is it just going to be me and 'stache?

I don't understand, can you only get one sandwich out of a deer? Do you just make really big deer meat sandwiches? Or do you just make alot of sandwiches and eat them all in one day?

Step 1: Move out of the third world
Step 2: Go through Hunter's Education
Step 3: Get hunting license
Step 4: Buy rifle and ammo
Step 5: Sight in rifle
Step 6: Find hunting spot
Step 7: Kill deer
Step 8: Gut and skin deer
Step 9: Seperate deer into smaller portions
Step 10: De-bone deer portions
Step 11: Process deer portions
Step 12: Package processed deer
Step 13: Eat deer

Good luck surviving in the wilderness if your plane crashes.

S&Wshooter 09-08-2010 12:03 AM

Seriously? No one else hunts?

I've been looking to getting my hunting license so I'll have an excuse for owning that $800 A-bolt.

A bolts are extremely accurate and pretty sturdy, but the little catch that holds the mag in wears out pretty quick

I don't fly.

That's a ridiculous premise anyway. As if I'd be allowed a rifle and buck knife on an airplane? And I'd be lucky to survive the crash in the first place, let alone be able to walk away from it.

Gunmaster45 09-08-2010 01:34 AM

I deer hunt in November. I live in a shotgun only region so I use my Browning A-Bolt slug gun in 12 gauge. It's accurate up to 100 yards and I've taken a few deer with it before. But the skinning and gutting is a pain in the ass so I don't do it too much. And personally I'm sick of the taste of venison, I've been fed it since I was little. God I just want a fucking cow burger once in a while.

I never really have problems with gutting the deer, seeing as it's organs are usually turned to jelly by my .308. All I have to do is cut it open and everything falls out at once

The last time, I hunted partridges... but it was some years ago. Next year I´ll get my gun licence (you must be 21) and a Ruger 10/22. I can´t wait for this:

By this logic, learning to live off of the land and kill to survive is a characteristic of the industrialized world? See, here in the third world, we have to make do with fresh meat from reliable sources slaughtered and butchered in sanitary and controlled conditions. But such is life in the third world.

Why do you think I'm Getting the heck out of here as fast as I can. Currently my rifles are stored away with family but i want to find a place to pighunt and maybe arrange to dust a few Coyote with a sniper rifle in my granpa's neck of the woods.

Yes I do realize that a .300 winmag will blow a 1 1/2 inch hole through the sheep eating sobs

FirearmFan 09-09-2010 04:11 AM

Small Game opens up in a couple of weeks and I've got a grouse hunting trip planned. I'll also keep my eyes open for rabbits. I might get out and do a little pheasant hunting this year if I can. Then October brings on duck hunting which I absolutely cannot wait for. And November brings the best of them all, deer hunting. There's nothing better then a day of hunting.

k9870 09-09-2010 02:03 PM

Coyotes are unlimited bag year round

Rockwolf66 09-09-2010 08:56 PM

Yes they are a year round target. the problem with the ones in Grandpa's neck of the woods is that the stupid ones have already been shot so now they keep out of deer rifle range. I wish i had the time and money to get some real hard practice in at his local 600 yard range. There is something satisfying about dispaching varmits from distances where they don't even imagine a threat from.

That's a tad sociopathic.
