What do you think we'll see at SHOT?

Well, its starting tuesday. What do you think ther'tll be? Cool new guns? New ammo, accessories, etc.?

Spartan198 01-17-2010 12:53 AM

Hopefully NEW stuff and not just repeats of last year. Some new stuff from Colt would be good. Mostly all they've been showing for the last couple of years are their 1020 gas piston uppers (which I doubt will ever go into production unless some police department or the DoD dishes out big bucks for an "M5 carbine").

Alcatrazz 01-17-2010 01:10 AM

Predictions:
FNH comes out with more guns that look like lasers
Benelli makes a shotgun, and it appears in video games
40000 1911 clones.

k9870 01-17-2010 01:26 AM

I heard the remington pistol may be released now, at least a prototype, its well known remingtons desighning pistols now but not what. It will probably be yet another 1911 clone.

ManiacallyChallenged 01-17-2010 05:10 AM

The Desert Eagle comes in diamond finish now.

I know the black folks will really want one now. And they thought gold plated was bling. Wait until the black community hears about diamond

Alcatrazz 01-17-2010 06:40 AM

But less racist than that makes it sound, right? Right?

The gangsta/thug types (not black folks per se, that's over-generalizing) mostly obsess over platinum. So if MR released a new Eagle with a Platinum finish, then that would have them excited.

Excalibur 01-17-2010 04:34 PM

I'm just saying, every time I go to a gun shop for guns, I always see a wannabe gang of blacks asking for the Desert Eagle and marvel at it like it's the manilest gun in the world.

Anyone who's been to gun stores or gun shows has seen people like that; in fact, when I was at the show yesterday, I saw a group of about 5-6 thug types. But I'm just saying that there's no need to treat them as though they represent "the black community" (whatever that is).

Excalibur 01-17-2010 04:44 PM

Then, I'll be more specific next time, I mention them. It's hard to hold back racist comments when it's easy.

Mauser 01-18-2010 11:23 PM

Someone told me they heard that Ruger will introduce a LCR in .357 magnum.

k9870 01-18-2010 11:46 PM

You couldnt pay me to fire it.

Every time I go to a gun show, there are a couple dozen "gangstas" trying to buy S&W Sigma's, which they somehow mistake for Glocks

Zulu Two Six 01-19-2010 12:22 AM

wait wasnt there an argument between S&W and Glock over the Sigma?

S&Wshooter 01-19-2010 12:24 AM

Yup. It looked too much like a Glock, so Glock took legal action against S&W and won

k9870 01-19-2010 12:31 AM

It was actally the whole operation being too similar, the difference being sigmas have truly awful triggers. Gangstas will only buy what they hear about in rap songs though. they want a "ruga nine" or a "glock fo-tay". Some will settle for a hi point, which they consider a virtal copy of a hk usp. Most will jsut use a raven mp-25, lorcin .380 or a rohm.

S&Wshooter 01-19-2010 12:33 AM

Even though "gangstas" usually have shitty taste in guns, I once saw a Wu Tang Clan video that was chock full of M1911's and S&W revolvers

k9870 01-20-2010 02:47 PM

Well, Smith has 2 new carry guns (a polymer wheelgun and sub compact .380 pocket gun, how original.)

Taurus has a polymer framed snubnosed judge, I think I puked.

Still waiting to see more info on the E2 SIGs.

WOndering if the remington 1911 is out yet.

S&Wshooter 01-20-2010 09:09 PM

Smith has sunk that low? Damn :(

k9870 01-20-2010 09:31 PM

Eevn named them the bodyguard .38 and .380 lol.

Mad Man 2.0 01-22-2010 06:22 AM

IMI- IMI is going to unveil there Wooden Desert Eagle which for some reason is going to cost more then the previously released models.

COLT- Will remind people that they build guns for the government and therefore don't need any original ideas for the next 50 fucking years.

HK- Is going to unveil a rifle that harnesses the power of GOD, but the army STILL won't be impressed.

FN- Will continue to out perform HK.

SIG Sauer- Will show of the long rumored SIG 9988/10 which is expected to be more expensive then the moon.

Charles Daly- Will be there, but not to unveil any thing but rather to egg the IMI both for stealing there fucking 1911 clone.

k9870 01-22-2010 02:12 PM

LOL

Mauser 01-22-2010 07:06 PM

Hitler's right lol. I have to agree with Mad Man on Colt not really putting forth any effort for the civillian market.

S&Wshooter 01-22-2010 09:03 PM

All they would need to do is start making the Python again

k9870 01-23-2010 12:17 AM

IMHO colt is a completely overrated company that rides on name brand.

I love when colt fanboys say "get a colt, its the original."
Like colt desighned it, not JMB or anything...Colt was just the first manufacturer, and many good and better companies came along. colts overpriced for what you get especially seeing springfields features/price spread. There ar-15s are top dollar and the fact they pretty much dont care about the civilian market turns me off.

Zulu Two Six 01-23-2010 12:22 AM

off topic:
what does IMHO mean?
i know IMO means in my opinion but what does the H stand for?

on topic:
wait! don't forget kel-tec's gonna make some foldable peice of shit that you can wear as a hat!

Yournamehere 01-23-2010 12:50 AM

In my honest opinion or in my humble opinion, those are the ones I've heard.

Anyhow does anyone follow nutnfancy on youtube? I sort of do, and he uploaded a video on the knife (and apparently gun) company Microtech. The video, like many of his, is long, but more or less worht the load and watch.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZL4rzaFTkQ

Anyone else want one of their blades and/or that sweet rifle?

That is the funniest thing I have heard all week :D

S&Wshooter 01-23-2010 01:12 AM

Check out those 4 knives at 1:43 in the video. You see the 3rd one down? My dad uses a knife very similiar to that (same brand, but with a smooth handle and longer blade) as a letter opener :p

Zulu Two Six 01-23-2010 02:01 AM

@S&W
really? i wasnt trying to be funny. i actually thought that off the top of my head. thanks!

@YourName...
NO! dont spoil it for me! i havent watched it yet!
i subscribed to him a while ago, he's pretty good.
we should start a thread on it

S&Wshooter 01-23-2010 02:23 AM

Damn, now I want a hat gun :D

Have you ever handled one before? The knife my father has is rediculously hard to open unless you are using both hands to work the release. I don't know how they open them so easily in the video. Maybe they fixed that in their newer models...

Yournamehere 01-23-2010 03:38 AM

Meh I'm not a big knife aficionado. I do like the out the top design though, but I'd never pay what they are asking for them, even if they are the greatest knives in the world. I just don't put that much value on knives.

S&Wshooter 01-23-2010 03:43 AM

They're not that great anyways. I'd much rather have my $50 dollar Gerber (http://www.impactguns.com/store/SS-72619.html) that I can open quickly with my middle finger and thumb than a $500 auto knife that takes two hands to open

Yournamehere 01-23-2010 03:50 AM

Oh is that what you have? I've got one just like it, had it for several years. It's a decent utility knife with a fairly good blade. The teflon scratched pretty bad on mine and so I had to sand it off on part of the blade so it wouldn't look like shit.

S&Wshooter 01-23-2010 03:59 AM

The very tip of mine is bent from pulling .22 shells from a Soviet bolt action training rifle that refused to eject and the finish is starting to come off. I almost bought a SOG, but I cut my thumb open with I tried to flick the blade out. It's a pretty good knife, but I miss my $10 S&W Tanto bladed folder (http://budk.com/Knives/Smith-Wesson-...-Folding-Knife) that I used to have, but the little piece that locks the blade in place went past the blade and got stuck

k9870 01-23-2010 06:15 PM

I think the new colt double action government models will be an epic fail.

Mauser 01-24-2010 05:15 PM

Speaking of knives has anyone else seen knifetest.com videos? Some people complain that what the put the knives through is just stupid and doesn’t hold water in the real world, but I find it very interesting. Especially when you got a cheaper than dirt knife that is worth like $30 and can perform a Chris Reeve knife which can be priced at over $250. Either way I find their videos very entertaining.

ShootingJames 01-25-2010 05:17 AM

The Mission Essentials FB page showed us pictures of our favorite shotgun revolver in CARBINE form.

http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._7064917_n.jpg

It is apparently a longer cylinder and is called "The Judge Magnum" or some such.

New Polymer framed Judge. Even more ugly.
