Strange how they have a 2 piece chicken strip meal while mcdonalds and other places have 3 to 5 strips and 10+ nuggets in a meal.

I'd put Sonics down with McDonalds. Their burgers taste about the same, except the Sonic burger is bigger so you can see how much more grease and not-meat is in it.

I'm now rereading The Girl Who played with Fire. I keep picturing Viggo Mortensen as Mikael Blomkvist and Kristen Stewart as Lisbeth Salander.

Im surprised mt hasn't shown up to discuss burgers.

He probably doesn't care

The random thread is almost at 3,000 posts. Most just visit it for a crap shoot discussion. Keeping up with everything is impossible, so many a discussion will likely be overlooked by some.

the mac that the school district gave me sucks, it lags constantly and the outside of the laptop is really fragile and not meant for being put into a backpack. Two of the screws that hold the bottom of the laptop together are missing and the trackpad jams constantly. They just all around suck.

I know that you are four years older than, but I am disappointed in you.

Four years older than...?????? (Or is that also part of the meme?)

Grilling is the healthiest way to cook a burger

I just don't eat burgers, or red meat in general. They sit in my stomach too long and feel awful when I'm running (and I run pretty frequently).

Just because I didn't return last night? Hard as it might be to imagine sometimes, I do have a life outside of IMFDB. When you posted this comment, I was kinda busy celebrating the end of the semester (turned in my last paper at 5 PM yesterday).

No offense, but given the occasion, it was just a little more important to me to be out having fun with people I know, as opposed to talking about burgers with people on a message board whom I've never met in person.

No, it isn't. It's that you're in graduate school (at least I think so) and I'm a scrawny little freshman.

I thought you were 16 or something (high school age)? I'm 25. So that would be a 9-year age difference, not 4 years.

Also, unless they finished college early, anyone in grad school is going to be at least 22.

OK, cool, that's what I thought I remembered you saying somewhere. So now that we've established you're actually 9 years younger than me (not 4), I guess that makes the "son, I am disappoint" thing even stranger?

Regarding the burgers thing: It's fine if you guys like burgers, and I'm not going to be a food snob and claim I'm better than y'all because I stopped eating them. Plus, if you lift weights while you're eating burgers (and do some running or swimming at least twice a week to burn off the extra fat), at least you'll be building muscle mass. When I was 19 and I needed to put on 20 pounds (because my coach told me I'd never be competitively fast unless I got bigger), I did it by eating burgers and meat lovers' pizzas every day for an entire summer. But after I got my weight to where it needed to be and started focusing on improving my cardiovascular fitness, I found that eating a burger every night actually reduced my progress on the ergometer because my system was working too hard to digest it.

k9870 05-08-2011 05:53 PM

I lift 3x a week, and do 30 min cardio on weight days too (10 warm up, 20 at end.) 2x a week i run and do cardio. Burgers are kay with that workout.

S&Wshooter 05-08-2011 07:16 PM

I'm helping my mom do a bit of gardening and one of the bags of mulch busted in my car

What type of SKS do you have, and does it have any other mods?

I just fixed a Norinco model in the shop, the receiver had really bad rust pitting. Had to make sure it was safe to fire. And had to clean the gas systems. It shot well, had to use an aftermarket detachable SKS mag that wasn't fitted because the customer didn't bring his, but it worked alright. Not a fan of the grips on them though, something about them feels awkward.

Swordfish941 05-09-2011 12:25 AM

I must get this machine:

Badass: The Book is quite entertaining.

Is Badass: The Book the one by Ben who manages "Badass of the Week"? If so, I can't wait for Amazon to get it here.

k9870 05-09-2011 02:03 AM

Yep its him, love that blog.

SPEMack618 05-09-2011 02:07 AM

Sweet. Read his site religiously every Friday afternoon. And he's a pretty pleasent chap to e-mail with to boot.

Always welcoming of recommendations I've seen him. (Burt Gummer and Leslie Coffelt to name two)

It is a 1953 Soviet SKS, it is all original except for the handguard over the gas tube which was replaced with a tapco handguard which has a rail on it.

http://www.tapco.com/products/sks/in...&productId=194
it is like this one.

Sounds like a good investment. Much like the M1 Carbine, the top piece of the handguard has a habit of getting loose and sliding around. Getting a new Tapco rail top cover sounds pretty sweet. Personally I'd find a nice synthetic stock for it to match the gun and improve the ergonomics. Just not the Dragunov stock. Positions the gun incorrectly, totally throws off the sights. Might not be a problem with a red-dot though.

I loved that book, let my Global teacher borrow it to read. She was somewhat aghast to some of it's content, but actually enjoyed it. She was just young enough to not be a total prude.

SPEMack618 05-09-2011 02:42 AM

In my capactity as VP of Member Development in my fraternity, I used his website as an instructional tool for pledges struggling in introductory history courses.
