Are you sure you don't want some kind of .22 rifle first to build up your marksmanship skills?

I've already shot a .22 at my Uncle's ranch (he lives in San Antonio).

You could buy a .22 rifle and pistol for the price of a p226. Hell you could get a cz75 for around 500 with a 200 dollar .22 conversion kit at the same price as a sig and then get a cheap 22 rifle.

Dude, I have to graduate from high school, get a Master's degree in Journalism, and find an apartment to live in along with a steady paying job before I can get a gun.

The gun is shoot most is a 140 dollar savage, where 20 bucks buys you almost 600 rounds of ammo. When you think of that its not much. 140 dollars is like 20 value meals. Bring a lunch from home for a couple weeks and you can afford cheap plinking fun. And even a litle 22 will coninve a bad guy to go rob someone else.

I like the look of the target sighted winchester 52 id love a savage mk2 fvt with the target sights but the thing has an ugly ass plastic stock and rifles deserve wood.

The most expensive place in town is charging $630 for a excellent condition, 1970's production Model 19 that has a nickel finish and a 4 inch barrel. Blued 1980's production model in the same condition and barrel length is listed as $650

I could probably find a nice used one at a gunshow for less

I would love a nice beater 38 or 357, too bad the only revolvers that i find at gun shows and gun shops are either small CCW 38's, 22's or 44 and 500 magnum revolvers for defense against a bear attack and rarely a good condition, used S&W k frame. Hell, i saw a model 10 at a gun show asking for $380.
