Remington makes a 55gr sp for the 30-30 called a accelerator...that would improve distance and leave a smaller hole with a boost in velocity.

I use my Howa 1500 thumbhole in a .338 win mag for all my bear, elk, deer, and cat hunting...I loves my 225gr accubonds. Death at a distance!

so my grandad is taking me hunting the day after thanksgiving....

Blizzard hit us up the mountain before we could make it to our hunting spot yesterday. Was barely able to turn the truck around and was forced to retreat down the mountain before the snow got to deep. Because of the thicker brush areas proceeding to get thicker from snow weight, I was happily able to use my Glock 10mm for the hunting of our downward decent off of the mountain side. Unfortionaly I only saw one big bodied white tail that never showed its antlers and i didnt take the shot. No other ethical shots presented themselves...so we get to try again today...hopefully this blizzard will calm down long enough to see something but if it stays to heavy i'll have to use the Glock again!

I didn't see anything because some jackasses (who don't even fucking help out around the lease) have been hunting my and my father's stands and killing deer, which causes other deer to stay away so they don't end up like their buddies. Somebody around the lease is killing deer illegally and another guy is using the camp that we rent and leaving us to clean up his mess (also, everytime I'm there after him, I find incest porn in weird places :confused:)
