I grew up with video games and my computer was never the most advanced. We would buy a new one ever few years when I was growing up.

I remember getting the NES, then the N64, then PS2, Gamecube. I have not been able to get the recent gen consoles, so now I use my money for computer parts so I can play the latest games on it.

Spartan198 11-24-2009 06:28 PM

I only play Rome: Total War and its expansions (+mods for them) on my computer, called a Toshiba Satellite I think. Everything else I get on console. I have been considering getting GTA: San Andreas for PC, though, due to some of the car mods I've seen out there (adding cars like Knight Rider, the Batmobile, and the Back to the Future Delorean to the game).

Excalibur 11-24-2009 07:23 PM

My brother plays Total War, but I'm not much of an RTS fan nowadays. I used to be with Command and Conquer, Red Alert, etc

k9870 11-24-2009 10:07 PM

Another plot question, why is sgt foley leadin massive military operations if hes just a sergeant? And why does cpl Dunn carry a deag?

I got into RTW after I came up with a story idea centering around Atlantis and the Greek world. I got to researching Greek mythology, which led to Greek military history, which subsequently led to me getting interested in the general history of the Mediterranean region (Rome, Egypt, Persia, etc.). My specific area of expertise is Sparta.

I thought he was only leading his squad...? As far as Dunn's Desert Eagle goes, it was probably just for that specific scene. If you look closely at the holsters on all the Rangers, they have what appear to be GI M1911A1s (not the Springfield Pro, distinguishable from it by the gray coloring) in them.

Excalibur 11-25-2009 04:50 AM

I did thought it was somewhat weird that a Ranger would be carrying a Desert Eagle of all things. But Foley wasn't leading a massive operation. He was just leading his group. The plot said he was acting commander of Hunter 2-1.

I've been thoroughly impressed with Modern Warfare 2. The campaign mode seems to be a very solid representation of what would happen if Ridley Scott and Michael Bay said "F@#k it, let's make a movie together." I really want to see where they go with the storyline...maybe Soap and Price start to track down Makarov and go deeper into Shepard's network and past to clear their own names?

Multiplayer is also fun. I like how camping doesn't seem to be a big of a problem in this game as it was in MW1 (when all else fails, it's damn hard to outrun a 40mm HE round). Battles are a lot more competitive and just more enjoyable to play, too.

Excalibur 11-25-2009 05:48 AM

There are so many cheaters on the PC and you can't even kick them out. People can't even get banned or kicked from servers if they over do anything. It's a very lawless multiplayer experience. And you can't have large massive 50 people battles anymore, the most is 18

Clutch, that's the most accurate description of the plot of Modern Warfare 2 I have ever heard. Just add James Cameron into the mix and you are all set.

k9870 11-25-2009 03:08 PM

Im sittin here while it searches servers, i ahte waiting five minutes to play with this new focus on matchmaking, cod 4 you just got right in the action.

Not quite. It needs Hideo Kojima added to the writing credits.

Anyone whose played a Metal Gear Solid game will agree.

Ace Oliveira 11-25-2009 04:51 PM

Yeah, good point. How about Suda 51? Then we will have mexican wrestling.

Excalibur 11-25-2009 05:10 PM

Great, we'd get Ridley Scott for his deeper meaning in films, Bay for his many explosions, and James Cameron for his fight against the industrial military complex kind of story mix with awesome visual effects. Cameron would have to throw in Sigourney Weaver and Bay would have to throw in some random teen actor like Shia Labou. We already got Hans Zimmer in MW2 music, and all we need is Harry Gregson-Williams to help with the soundtrack and it would sound amazing.,

I'm already thinking of actors to portray the characters in the game

Ace Oliveira 11-25-2009 05:22 PM

Keith David will be Sergeant Foley in the movie too. Keith David is too awesome to be left out of the movie. He also should be an Sergeant Major.

I just started getting into the Co-op and I need a 2nd person for some of the missions. if anyone has the game for PC add Pfc. Weiss [28th ID] (I belong to a DoD:S Realism Unit) to your steam friends and we can play.

Excalibur 11-27-2009 03:27 AM

I have a steam account and so does my brother. We've been playing Spec-ops for a while now. Add Jacen_Fanel

k9870 12-04-2009 07:14 PM

The javelin glitch is pissing me off, every noob does it now. Anyone else see this bullshit?

Excalibur 12-04-2009 07:20 PM

Everyone sees this glitch. They say a new patch is coming out to fix it. Hopefully soon

Spartan198 12-05-2009 02:27 AM

What glitch?

k9870 12-05-2009 03:31 AM

Its where you can make it if you die the javelin automatically launches killing everyone near you. Theres some youtube vids on it.

Excalibur 12-05-2009 05:26 AM

I haven't encountered much of this. It's an annoying glitch, but not too many people use it. Same with shields. I don't see too many shield users.

k9870 12-05-2009 11:45 AM

Shields jsut suck, thats why there not used. So easy to counter. Sidestep, stab. Shhot in back. M203. Semtex........the javelins....ugh.

Spartan198 12-05-2009 01:58 PM

Shields are like Desert Eagles. On the outside they look so bad ass that they could kill you if you just looked at them, but on the inside it's revealed they're so pitiful that germs look down on them.

Excalibur 12-05-2009 05:56 PM

People are using double guns more often. I've been killed plenty of times with dual 1887s. It's actually a powerful combo.

k9870 12-07-2009 02:40 AM

It is.

Just noticed in single palyer, Shepherd pulls back the hammer on his .44, then fires, where the cylinder rotates....again.

I actually find that more funny then annoying lol.

Excalibur 12-07-2009 03:55 AM

One match, half the other team was doing that. It was annoying, but funny at the same time. Cause I always snipe them before they get too close

Spartan198 12-08-2009 06:36 AM

I don't think any words are needed here.

What pissed me off, Im playing Whiskey Hotel, run out of ammo in my m4, 0 total, no in mag or spare, the switch to my m16a4 and have over 300 rounds?

Excalibur 12-11-2009 04:35 AM

I noticed that too. I think the developers assumed each weapon system you have gets their own set of mags. I mean the Tavor and the M16, M4 system uses the same magazines

Anyway, how did you run out of ammo on Whiskey Hotel? Even on Veteran mode, I still have enough ammo on my M4 because I picked up an M240 with an ACOG when I am outside.

k9870 12-11-2009 03:32 PM

several weapons switches right off probably, ditched m4 for m240, pick up separate m4. All i know is i enetered building with like 100 rounds in m4.

Excalibur 12-11-2009 04:33 PM

What I dont like is that enemies in these games dont respond to suppressive fire at all.

If you want them to respond, play Brothers in Arms, you can waste all your ammo shooting to the hidden krauts....

Excalibur 12-11-2009 05:59 PM

I'm not much of a fan of that game. And that's another thing. I am sick and tired of WWII games. When are they going to make war games of other wars? I want to see Call of Duty: Vietnam, or Metal of Honor: Korea. Maybe WWI games. Not to beat a dead horse, but WWII games are over rated.

Spartan198 12-11-2009 06:44 PM

There's over 160 WWII games in existence as it is.

Excalibur 12-12-2009 06:03 PM

Right, we don't need anymore WWII games no matter how many "new graphics" and gameplay there is. I mean when Treyarch made COD World At War. All they did was took the COD4 engine and used it to make the game and the sound effects were exactly the same.

k9870 12-12-2009 06:58 PM

Noticed another thing in game, in "no russian" you kill all the people at airport entrance, then upstairs, then you go down into a third area and theres a lot of dead people...but you never shot them. how did they die?

Spartan198 12-12-2009 10:23 PM

I'll have to check again, but I believe that was the same room that the initial slaughter took place in, but you go upstairs, circle around, and come back through from a different direction.

Excalibur 12-13-2009 01:32 AM

No, it's a different room. If I remember correctly, one or two of your "team mates" shot them all from above when you were on the second floor.

k9870 12-13-2009 04:23 PM

Okay, palyed no russian again and one terrorist does fire from the balcony at them, but he fires like 200 rounds from his m4 without reloading.
