i can see troops who are hiking mountains wanting to lessen the load but if your leaving base in a humvee and patrolling around, why not carry a little extra? Besides, the ountain troops may need 3 days of supplies, a troop in atruck can leave a couple mres in the truck and good to go.

A Lav III with a 25mm bush gun, coax, flamethrower and a Minimi on the ring.
They will never get in and you can run over a lot to save ammo. Pers stuff, M4/M203 with 13 mags and 4 x 40mm on a chest rig Para LDA, 15 rnds of .45, 5 mags FN FAL with 9 mags, swap out when in open country 2 x frags 4 x nine bangers Living in a LAV is very comfy |

I like this thread.
Just one: Glock 22 (Very common with Canadaland police, ammo and mags would likely be fairly common.) More ideal loadout: Glock 22 SIG-Sauer P226 (RCMP has them in .40, allows ammo swapping with the Glock. And I can die with something more preferable than a Glock.) MP5 (Police likely have them, 9x19 is a pretty common caliber everywhere) C8 flat top with a EOTech MPO (557 & 3x magnifier) LAV III (Transport, home, storage container ^ that shits heavy. And I know someone who might have a set of keys I could kill for.) |
If I can just pick, I'd have at least 3 handguns, all 9mm because it doesn't take much to break open the skull of a zombie and end them. Anything smaller than 9mm would lose range and all 3 would be 9mm so I can have only need of one type of pistol ammo in the event any of my other guns fail so they share the same ammo.
Springfield XDM Glock 34 SIG P226 I'd also want a pistol caliber rifle for an added range with the abundant common 9mm ammo and for better range and accuracy if my rifles failed. Cx4 Storm MP5 in any configuration if I can get my hands on it. For rifles, I'd get assault rifles and sniper rifles if I can get my hands on them. L96 Remington 700 AR-15 style rifle AR-10 And for shotguns Beneili M4 Remington 870 with a pistol grip and stock AA-12 for the kind of situation where I am in a room or cornered and I need some real firepower that spreads all over the place in full auto. |
My weapons:
* Heckler & Koch HK416 D10RS with Eotech 552 Holographic sight, Aimpoint 3x magnificent scope, RIS foregrip, and Surefire flashlight. * Mossberg 500 fitted rear and forward pistol grips, heat shield, and spare shell holder. * Pair of Kimber Warrior II's kept in a shoulder rig. |
When the zombies come, I won't need any weapons. I'll just pray them away.
|
Primary:
M4 Carbine with ACOG (From NG Armory) Long Range: HK 91/CETME (From Gunstore) Sidearm: Sig Sauer P229 (From local police dept. or gunstore) Though my weapon selection wouldn't matter as long as I have one of these and plenty of fuel. I could just camp out for the night in the middle of a horde of zombies and nothing would happen to me. http://i1.treklens.com/photos/10138/cat.jpg http://www.treklens.com/gallery/Euro...hoto214704.htm |

Glock 17 w/Roni stock
Sporter Mauser 1909 .308 w/Zeiss 6x48 Bersa Thunder Mini 380 Henry Survival rifle .22 lr (for small game, when you need fresh meat) |

Why are most people trying to get .223 rifles and 9mm handguns? You realize that 9mm and 223 rifles have a hard time bringing down people on adrenaline. They have no stopping power. Zombies are like crazy pcp hooked crackheads. Good luck with that. |

Has anyone considered the magazine issue? As in, it doesn't matter how much ammo you have, only how many mags you have. I'd go with a pump action shotgun and a revolver. That way you can just use loose ammo. |

I'd go with the shotgun, the revolver, ammo, a ka-bar, and a tomahawk. And if I can get a military shotgun, a bayonet. |
My Stag Arms AR
The 686 my 4506 as backup one of my many .22's for when ammo gets a little low for the centerfires. I'd probably end up using a 12 guage and a .22 though, seing as that's just about all we have ammo for |
Remember that Buntline special with the detachable stock that Col. Mortimer has in "For a Few Dollars More?" Do they make grips like that today? If they do, that's what I'd want. A GP-100 with a six inch barrel, and a detachable stock. Stock on to reach out and touch someone, stock off for close-in action.
(They'd be legal, right? The revolver is still legally a handgun.) |

I just remembered- the only 12 ga ammo we have is 3 1/2 inch Magnum. I guess we'd just have to have perpetually bruised shoulders

Are we talking zombies that are sensitive to light, smell or noise? Are they fast or slow? Are all of them basic humans or are variations similar to the infected in the L4D games around? How many other survivors are there? How big is the ammunition, food and water supply? What continent am I on? Do I get an umbrella? Are high-explosives available? MANPADs? Tanks? Which year is it? Is electricity still on? Are the other survivors primarily friendlies? Or is everyone nuts? Are there still non-combatants? Is the military still around? If yes, do they pose a threat? Did the governments of the planet spontaneously decide to launch all available nukes in order to......make the last action they ever take be something REALLY stupid?
This thread does not offer enough information to make accurate choices. Or I was simply too tired to read the last 15 pages |
Zombies are like the l4d infected, except without special infected, just the people, and slightly slower. military is around but at certain strongholds, these strongholds have electricity but the rest of the country is hit or miss, there are other survivors mostly friendly, and your in america. Theres a scenario.

The most realistic version of zombies are probably the Rage victims in 28 Days Later. They don't want to eat your brains, they want to tear you to shreds.
|
And physiologically still human bodies, just their mind is gone. i seriouly cant get over zombies who have a "dead" body and working mind that can move around. why would something without a working stomach need to eat? and how would it walk?
|
Zombies are actually real. Being a zombie is a drug induced state brought on by a specific mixture of various chemicals that lower heart rate and breathing rate to being nearly undetectable. Another combination of drugs is used to get the body up and moving again while keeping it in a mindless stupor. Voodoo priests have been doing this in Haiti for years as a means of obtaining free labor. One of the most important ingredients is puffer fish poison.
So, yeah, no movie has portrayed real zombies ever. |

Well that's what the term Zombie means BEFORE Romero took the term into what it is today. There was a movie before the 70s called White Zombie or something along that line where Zombies are done through magical means.

To wrangle this back on topic, if I wasn't royally screwed by gun laws then it'd have to be:
