You're thinking of Daniel Radcliffe. Elijah Wood was in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Here's S&Wshooters mercs:

Pieter Van Zyl - Steve Austin

Sean - Cillian Murphy

van Zyl: Randy Couture with a beard like he had in that Jimmy Kimmel sketch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSZeXGi3b8M)

Sean: Sean Patrick Flannery

I didn't have anyone for George

Mac Diesel: 50 Cent

I couldn't think of anyone for Cooper

Swordfish941 08-22-2010 11:28 PM

Here are the weapons of S&Wshooter's mercs:

* Pieter's sidearms are a Star Megastar chambered in .45 ACP, a Smith & Wesson 559 (kept in shoulder holster), and a sound suppressed Makarov PM (used for stealth). His main weapon is a M16A1 rifle fitted with a 30 round magazine and jungle camouflage paint scheme.

* Mac Diesel's main weapons are a M60 Machine Gun and a M79 Grenade Launcher.

* Cooper's side arms are a pair of Glock 17's kept in a pair of shoulder holsters. His main weapon is a Heckler & Koch G36K fitted with two magazines clipped together.

ditch the Makarov, give the 559 a suppressor and put a little S&W 2213 or a cheap .25 on his ankle

I'll give him a Beretta 950 Jetfire and a KS-23 (the fixed stock version. He got the shotgun off a Chechen.).

He can blow people in half with the KS-23 like Dolph Lundgren did with the M79 on The Expendables

Swordfish941 08-23-2010 12:35 AM

Van Zyl also carries an ASP Baton and a kukri.

Any info on the antagonists?

k9870 08-23-2010 12:52 AM

Somali militia

Swordfish941 08-23-2010 03:56 AM

The Enforcer carries a AKS-74U fitted with two magazines taped together "Jungle Style" and carries a 8' barrel Taurus Raging Bull chambered in .454 Casull and kept in a Black Mamba holster. The Militia leader carries a Zastava M88 fitted with a stainless steel finish and wooden grips.

k9870 08-23-2010 08:56 AM

Whats his militias span of control, i he more localized, like in the capital, or does the warlord control like the whole country?

Swordfish941 08-23-2010 11:11 AM

He controls Kismaayo and most of the area surrounding it.

Swordfish941 08-23-2010 11:23 AM

I've decided to replace George's Huey with an aircraft that's based off a V-22 Osprey tiltrotor. It's called an X-94 Phantom triltrotor. It holds 24 people, and has a GShG -7.62 machine gun mounted in the nose.

Swordfish941 08-23-2010 07:28 PM

Can someone suggest a working title? I tried The Mercenary, but that seems too bland.

Die Huurlinge

The Mercenaries, but translated to Afrikaans

Just kidding. That sounds horrible

At least it's better than Necessary Evil.

k9870 08-23-2010 10:27 PM

that sounds pretty cool

Mandolin1 08-24-2010 12:45 AM

From the original thread:
Quote:

Ares' main sidearm is a Heckler & Koch Mk. 23 Mod. 0. His secondary sidearm is a IMI Desert Eagle Mk. XIX in .44 Magnum and fitted with a stainless frame. His main rifle is a Vektor CR-21 fitted with a SUAT scope in place of the 1x optical sight. He also uses a Barrett M107 sniper rifle (which he nicknames "The Beast of Burden") to kill Somali pirates. He also uses a Remington 870 fitted with a Speedfeed stock, spare shell holder mounted on receiver, Surefire 618 weaponlight, and ghost ring sights..
Didn't we decide that he should have a more useful handgun(s)

Yet here you say:
Quote:

Please, no Mk23s or Desert Eagles.

An M60 AND an M79 is too much bulk (if not weight) for one guy. Remember, a 40mm grenade round is 1/2 pound. You carry a meaningful amount, that's a lot of weight. Maybe an M203 on Pieter's M16A1? Why does Cooper have 2 Glocks on shoulder holsters as well as a G36? Two pistols is bad, two identical pistols in shoulder holsters is worse. Just screams "mall ninja" to me. And why does he have the G36K when everyone else has much older guns? Shouldn't George have a rifle?
It seams to me that you have got Pieter, whose gun choices leave me wondering where he's from (thought definitely some 4th-world backwater)
Sean (his weapons and name SCREAM "I'm IRA" to me.)
Mack Diesel (giant with too much stuff, probably fought in Vietnam. Nice pun there in his name BTW).
Then you have Cooper, whose weapons are modern European HK nut. George just needs a real gun.

Ok, enough about them What i think about Swordfishe's guys:
Greg: good weapons.
Ares: see above
Roco: Nice choices, just give him an Uzi (or MP5, to share mags) for when you don't need a full-size FAL.
Katie: Good choices, but give her an HK33, M4/M733/CAR-15, or something like that for when the bad guys are over 100+ yards away.
Johnny: See Katie.
I still think they need a grenade launcher (Greg or Roco) or an MGL type thing (Katie? Chick with a revolver grenade launcher, nice) A machine gun would be nice too.

Swordfish941 08-24-2010 02:05 AM

Notes for Mandolin:

* Pieter is from Zimbabwe

* Sean is a former member of the IRA

* Johnny has a Milkor MGL.

* Ares has the same handguns since he is a big man.

Anyway, what do you think of my casting choices?

k9870 08-24-2010 02:18 AM

George is a pilot, only has a survival sidearm, but i think the m16a1 should at least be an a2, or a3, since those are cool. And macdiesel is a mall ninja and just likes caryring around rediculous amounts of firepower.

But M16A1's are fucking awesome!

Some people say the same thing about hi point or lorcin, doesnt make it true. Who cares if the a1 looks cooler if it stovepipes constantly.

van zyl really needs one of these:

Swordfish941 08-24-2010 09:45 AM

I based Greg on Christopher Walken's character in The Dogs of War and the Daniel Craig version of James Bond.

It's your opinion on Scientology that bugs me. If they want to take over the government, they would of already done it by now. To me, they're just one of those new wave religions who defend themselves with lawyers.

Anyway, back on topic. I think I might give Katie a customized MP5K-PDW. It has a UMP style stock and sound suppressor. She also keeps a Walther PPK under her pillow in her cabin.

k9870 08-24-2010 10:47 PM

nobody puts a gun under the pillow, it is dangerous and its way quicker to grab it off a bedstand. Under a pillow it would probably just slip off the bed anyway and you would get an nasty surprise adjusting your pillow in the night.

Swordfish941 08-24-2010 11:17 PM

The first scene in Cape Town is when Greg is in a dive bar ordering a Daiquiri with the syrup replaced with Grenadine. The bartender asks if he would like it shaken or stirred, he responds by saying: "Do I look like Sean fucking Connery to you? Stirred."

A: It's not an opinion, it's established fact. People were indicted, tried, and convicted over that.

B: If you'd actually read the article you'd know their objective wasn't to overthrow the government, it was to obstruct investigations into the church's activities.

C: No, they can not overthrow the government. If 11 seceding states couldn't do it, an unpopular cult with mostly mentally ill followers never will.

D: My opinion on or knowledge of any topic doesn't change the fact that Necessary Evil sounds cool.

I would like to take time and quote Vincent from Collateral: You are screwing with my work!.

Swordfish941 08-26-2010 07:32 PM

I would like to defend my casting choice of Greg. You may think that Elijah Wood is a very poor choice for Greg, but people said shit about Daniel Craig when he was cast in Casino Royale and Adrien Brody in Predators. Elijah Wood is a fucking good actor. I he's close to Greg's age and is only three years older then my choice for Katie, Mila Kunis. So say what you want, but I'm not changing.

It's a bit similar to casting Michael J. Fox in Casualties Of War. And Daniel Craig had already played a number of badass roles, the main argument against him as Bond was that he had blond hair. Elijah Wood, on the other hand, was a child star and then a hobbit.
